No panic, there will be a defeat for one if the following, Chelsea, City, Arsenal or Liverpool on their opener too.

A few things,we had 9 injured players on Saturday ,5 of whom would have started .

We were poor ,but Swansea aren't being given enough credit, they played very well ,defensively sound .

Too early to panic, but it's sti ll clear we are minimum of 2 players short of being top 4 and minimum 4-5 players from being title contenders.

Defensively they were quite well organised, but moving forward they were easily as sloppy as you guys, frequently giving the ball away cheaply.

Hmm, Ki scored the first goal so it was only 1-0 at that point...

Thanks, I was hoping one of you might give us a little credit unlike every pundit in the world.

It seems we forgot to read the 'Van Gaal is the new Messiah' script and spoilt the party.

Personally, I think this is just a blip for you guys. If Rooney had put that free kick a few inches inside the post you would have been run-away winners with the momentum in your favour.

Was also waiting for Mike Dean to give you a penalty for Rangel's 'hand-ball' in the 93rd....but thankfully not.

Comparing the pre-season friendlies where some sort of fairy godmother dust powered the team, now, come the strike of the Premiership midnight hour the pumpkins seem to have re-appeared.

I'm not too bothered about that, but what did concern me was Gaal's comments on players adapting to his methods and that it takes 3 months. Well I hope they do, because otherwise they will not be playing for the manager. And we know what that did last season.

We need players playing for this new manager. And Utd need to be able to replace ones who do not or who he thinks will not very quickly indeed.

This war chest has to see the light of day sooner than later so the manager feels happy.

Cmon stop looking for excessive credit - the plucky underdogs gave you a scare but superior class told in the end!

just play like that against the other 'top ' teams please. It was bizarre because last season you had tons of possession in games but did little, this game you had littel possession but made it count which is what it is all about.

it will take a bit of time to adapt to the new system in competetive games.

i don't think pre season counts for much if anything at all tbh.

its a marketing ploy to sell large shirts to americans.

a few observations from saturday

1. no pace on the break. Mata has never been the quickest but breaking from midfield reminded me of the halcyon days of Neil Webb, all legs and no travel. can't ask fletch to do all the tackling and all the box to box for 90 minutes. equally you can't ask Ashley sicknote to track back and defend too often as he forgets and goes awol.

2. Rooney's distribution was unusually poor and attacks were breaking down as a result - he seemed to be quiet in the first half too.

3. defensivley not disastrous BUT jones can't track back and make tackles like that - he's not tough enough.

4. we're still woefully short of a world class midfielder that can ask questions of a defence and spot that killer pass and make it.

2 essential purchases required still, centre half and as above.

all hope isn't lost but not the best start....

Quite a few reports tonight that the Rojo deal is done. Let's hope we get some momentum going in the transfers now

Doesn't matter really. If he wants to move to London, he isn't available to us.
