Thanks for trying to let us know we're st and every footballer ever is turning us down with your cruddy article Sye. Muller didn't mention United in the interview at all, he said "European clubs", and secondly Enrique Cerezo said Atletico has no idea where the rumour that he's buying Reus came from, but he knows Man United's tried to buy Reus? A load of hairy balls I reckon.

Still, I hope the rumours about Balotelli aren't true for your sake. Can't see him being happy on the bench behind Falcao.
Dont forget Cavani wink

What happened to Nani? It was only a few seasons ago he was nominated for the Ballon D'or.
He was in the long list of 23! He's not consistent enough and the flashes of brilliance are now further and further apart. However having just seen the reception he's just received flying into Portugal he is clearly still well regarded at home.

nani was brilliant 2010-11 season ,but that tackle on him vs the scousers where he limped off crying was the end of him as a player, lost his mojo after that.

Just read that Thomas Muller turned you down in the summer. I think you lot will struggle this season. Its going to take a few seasons to build you back were you where

6/10, would have been an 8/10 but seeing as it was debunked not 4 hours ago I've had to mark you down I'm afraid

That's still some feat considering where he would lie in the list now! I remember when Ronaldo left it looked like you had a player in Nani equally as good. He seemed to fizzle out though, Maybe a change will do him good. I liked the look of Rojo at the World Cup so I think it was a good deal. With that said another defender isn't what I thought was needed for you chaps to get back to the top.

Unless the BBC have translated it incorrectly:

Bayern Munich midfielder Thomas Muller has told German newspaper Bild that he turned down an "astronomical" offer from Manchester United to stay with the Bundesliga side.
The 24-year-old said: "I was aware that I could earn more by making that transfer.
"The amount that foreign clubs were offering me was astronomical. But Bayern are my club, a change was not an issue for me."

ETA - not trolling just clarifying and personally think it's great he has put the love for his club ahead of more money. Just unfortunate for you and whoever else were in for him.

They haven't translated it incorrectly as such, its just really lazy journalism

Muller does interview (which is available on the web) in this interview he says he received astronomical offers from clubs in Europe

Bild run the story but knowing what simply adding the name "Manchester Utd" into the story does for hits on their website, they do exactly that

BBC just run the story from Bild without checking the interview

"The amount that foreign clubs were offering me was astronomical. But Bayern are my club, a change was not an issue for me." - this is all he said, we were never named, its the worst clickbait journalism

Ah, fair enough. Any chance to push the 'fallen giant' theme I guess.

As you say, lazy, but also perhaps purposeful.

All bullst, Bayern pay about the same these days as the top of the PL. Players like Robben, Ribery, Schweinsteiger earn 10 million euro's anually or more.

Maybe Muller could earn a little more than he does at Bayern but given both teams budgets it can't be far off. Reus is a different matter though....

The Daily Star but:

Manchester United have started negotiating a deal for Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin after their move for Juventus's Arturo Vidal stalled, the Daily Star reports.

United have apparently made the first move for the Colombian in a bit to head off interest from Hamburg and Sevilla, among others.

Guarin is thought to command a fee of around £18m.

Exactly. It's annoying because I'm sure United were one of the clubs turned down by him, but he even says 'clubs' rather than just 'club'. So why aren't those other clubs named? Because that wouldn't make United look as bad.

With this lazy journalism we have people saying United can't attract the best players any more, we're falling apart, doing a Liverpool etc. Those things might be true in the future, but it doesn't happen over a single season with David fecking Moyes in charge.

Even so, Muller turning us down for Bayern is a non-story right now. Bayern won the Champions League a couple of seasons ago, has one of the best squads in the world, is based in Germany/his home nation who he just won the World Cup with and he came through the Bayern youth ranks.

But it gets the ABUs as hard as a rock.

Just saw the reception Nani had in Lisbon on the news.

I hope he does well and he's happy there, it seems they love him.

I'm sure he will and good for him if he does. Their league is probably better suited to his style of play anyway.

Ah lads, Nani ? Was hoping he'd play a lot of games for you this year? Still though on a positive for you lot seems Van Gaal doesn't what him, they didn't get what could be considered anything like a deal for him,in fact a considerable hit financially yet he's still, gone. Van Gaal beginning to flex his muscles ?

When someone isn't wanted they go. That's true of any business the world over (barring the UK Civil service).

If nothing else we get to spend his wages elsewhere.
