As much as i hate to admit, CR07 is one if the 3 best players in the world
Ronaldo is arguably THE best player in the world, him & Messi are on a different level alltogether Even if you think Messi is no1 - Gary Lineker put it best a few years ago "Ronaldo is the greatest second best player in the world there has ever been" (Ronnie has since taken best player in Europe crown from Messi)

Please do not attribute the last few comments to a Liverpool fan, Its just someone on day release
If he does make his way home ok, could you just ask him if he's seen our threads hubcaps? I mean I'm sure it's just a coincidence but I'm sure they were there earlier.

Oh, so you're saying that United have a really strong squad in depth? Really, like, you're actually saying that in public?
Also, as you and everyone else now knows, Di Maria didn't want to leave Real. So, a ringing endorsement for United's new regime from their £60m signing.
Wow I can feel the satisfaction you are getting from our current situation coming through the screen. But unfortunately no thats not what i meant. I'll be the first to admit we need to strengthen a lot in a fair few areas but have done for years. Shows how good fergie was really. Also, as you and everyone else now knows, Di Maria didn't want to leave Real. So, a ringing endorsement for United's new regime from their £60m signing.
It was more all the negativity around di Maria really. It's a good signing. We could have done with other positions before a winger but if we have the opportunity for one of the best in the world then we have to take it. I don't think one club in the world would be dissapointed with that signing.. well madrid maybe
I love all the LFC/MUFC banter it's great fun.
However, LFC won the grand total of nothing last year, the same as Utd.
Yes they qualified for the CL, but if i'm honest i can't see them getting any further than the last 16, i think they'll do well to even get there if i'm honest!
Squad wise, we're (MUFC) pretty fked atm, we have some quality players in the squad now, but we have a lot out injured & the manager hasn't got them working together.
I really don't think we have that bad a starting 11. No strength in depth but there we go!
Brightest youngster so far looks like James Wilson, i think Zaha could of been good but he really hasn't had chance to perform for us.
From the LFC squad who would i have? Gerrard instead of Carrick, although he's pretty past it now, Sterling in place of anyone but Di Maria (I've always rated DiMaria), Sturridge instead of RVP (but only currently) as RVP isn't doing the business for us.
Everyone slates Rooney, but he has passion & desire to win, he works hard & he still scores fk loads of goals & he'll always be there defending.
LFC squad really isn't all that, keeper is dodgy, defence is dodgy & if Stevie's playing & it's raining, kiss goodbye to any silverware!
I really think LFC will struggle top 4 this year, i personally think it'll be Chelsea>MCFC>Arsenal>Tottenham.
I really think LFC will struggle with the extra games & can't see them getting very far in Europe!
As for signings, it's rumoured Daley Blind for 20m this morning on BBC & Vidal still, it'd be great to get them, however i don't know why we aren't in for Vlaar, he's a quality CB, send Ashley Young in the opposite direction.

I think our biggest problem has been this..
We lost SAF, the greatest football manager ever
Moyes came in and tried to change the team to play his way
LVG came in and tried to change the team to his style and play his way
There's three different styles trying to be implemented here in a relatively short space of time. Is it any wonder that we can't find our feet or any rhythm yet?
Losing to MK Dons was pretty shocking but the reality is that it is pretty understandable from a logical point of view.
I'm not alarmed, I could dine out on our last 20 years of success for a while yet. However, I do believe, LVG will mould the team and get it playing in a winning manner and I do think it will take time. It's quite possible that Moyes could have done it too, had he had the resources from scratch. We'll never know that, obviously.
A realistic target this season has to be top four and if that's achieved, we can build over the next couple of seasons to be battling for top honours once again.

Look at that side that spanked Arsenal, I remember seeing the team sheet on the day and thinking Fergie had finally lost it, but yet again it proved a master stroke. The guy was going to be impossible to replace and it's proved so. We lost SAF, the greatest football manager ever

The development of Jones and Smalling has stalled somewhat over the last 18 months but probably understandable given the upheaval and changes at Carrington. Letting Moyes rip out Fergies infrastructure and go with Steve Round and Phil Neville was unforgivable and proved a disaster.
I can see what LVG is doing will take time to improve results on the field but it will. He strong enough to clear out the dross in the squad and will bench the recent big buys if they don't fit his philosophy!!
It'll be a interesting season again but I can see us back to winning ways by October.

We have a manager with a proven record of winning, I feel we're in a better place than last season and heading in the right direction. Last season it was going in the wrong direction and the manager was not filling me with confidence at all. This year I think will be different.
I find it funny how many people are delighted that we're losing, just goes to show how mad we've made them over the last two decades. Poor things.

Not sure I agree, Capital One semi-final, and quarter finals of the Champions League. We certainly didn't lose 4-0 to a division one side.
Hopefully LVG can turn it around but so far he's not inspiring me with much confidence.

Not sure why van Gaal has said he always struggles in the first 3 months of any new club, because having a quick look at the results for Barcelona, AZ Alkmaar and Bayern it's just not true.
He inherited decent sides at both Bayern and Barca and let's face it a bad year for either of those clubs is to finish second. I think the Premier League is without doubt the hardest league for a foreign manager to come into...it's miles more competitive at the very top and there are plenty of mid-table teams capable of giving the very top sides are hard time unless they are firing on all cylinders.
He's at a club where the expectations are rightly sky high where he's trying to re-invent a team and a playing style whilst every single team they play against will more than fancy there chances. Not easy...not easy at all.
