Great signing especially as he appears versatile but I am slightly worried at the left sided bias of Shaw, Rojo and Blind. Not yet bought a true central defender of the Vidic or Rio mould.ETA - still hope that during Clev (or Young) negotiations with Villa, Vlaar could come our way and that Chico is a make weight in Vidal.

Ooh excellent. LVG certainly not dicking around. How long do you think it will take all your new players to work out how to play together as a team? It's clear from recent matches that you have individual quality in places, but the system and team parts have not gelled. Another 5-6 games as it will take training sessions and drills or will quality shine through quickly?

The million dollar question. If one of those new players is a true "play-maker", ideally bossing things in the middle of the field, then it could come quickly. I am thinking along the lines of a more technically gifted version of Roy Keane - one who is looking, pointing and shouting 360 degrees from the middle of the pitch.

I've thought for a while that the Glazers needed to look into the abyss before freeing up the cash. Maybe LVG is smarter than I thought. You know, play a little early season chicken.

I think Di Maria will be a huge catalyst for Utd. Brilliant player who will rip teams apart.GTO-3R said:
As happy as I am at the signing of Di Maria, I can't help but feel that the Blind signing is a better one. Anyone else think the same?
I think its very much needed signing. I'm guessing he is the Cleverley replacementObligatory YouTube

I think it will take a few weeks to get the team gelling as even 1 great player still needs to understand how the others work to real make a great team. You've spent a lot and so you have to get Champions league, otherwise, I do fear for the investors and the ability to attract more players.
We can go on for ages about the amount you have spent, but it's the wage bill which I wonder about. With so many people on incredible money, I hope there are clauses in the contracts if you do not make the top 4.
