Ferguson always built his squad around defence (including goalkeeper), ensuring a strong foundation.
This clown is doing the opposite!
A problem inherited from BOTH previous managers

DDG
Rafa Jones Rojo Shaw
Herrera Mata Blind
Rooney RVP Di Maria
It's not a problem, it's a good formula. Benitez did it at Liverpool, he too was successful.

Blind is a defender... no?! Surely he'll drop fat Jones!

With Rafael, Shaw injured, Rojos no work permit his hand is forced to play a 3-5-2.
I was under the impression that the 3-5-2 was LVG's preferred formation.

I was rather hoping he was going to persevere with it too.

This 'clown' as you so eloquently describe him, is still doing the clear up after Ferguson's apparent lack of interest in the club's future.
No lets get this straight, he's clearing up after bacon chops!

A problem inherited from BOTH previous managers, everyone knew Rio, Vidic and Evra were all off. We got Smalling Jones and Buttner.

Most seem to think once everyone's in we'll line up 4-3-3, wonder what that'll look like?

DDG
Rafa Jones Rojo Shaw
Herrera Mata Blind
Rooney RVP Di Maria

I really hope we find a formation and stick with it!
Do you think that back 4 is good enough though?

I seriously think our back 4 is weak ( LFC ), But I would prefer it to that one.
Not really but it looks like it's what we're going to have at the end if the window.

He surely can't persist with this 3 at the back failure and I'd take Jones over Smalling and Evans.

You are kidding right? He inherited Ferguson's shower and you can only really accuse him of Fellaini and said that they were underdogs to Liverpool

I am not surprised United are weak at the back as apart from De Gea the defence is pretty crap, but I am surprised they aren't scoring any goals at all, that must be the biggest concern at the moment?

Like I said, the attacking 4 we played today, no goals, we have some serious problems across the whole team.

Is that the shower that won the league by 11 points?

Rather simplistic. The shower that were effectively burnt out without bringing in new blood. That shower.
Do you not think Fergusons lack of purchases spelt the beginning of the end for that team?

Apart from the 63 million he spent in his last year...or the 53 million he spent the year before that...or the 27 million the year before that?

Yeah sounds like he had his hands in his pockets.

He may not have had his hands in his pockets, but his purchases were like someone growing tired of Champ Manager. Zaha, 15M? Young 17M? Kagawa 12M? Looks like when a kid has his Xmas money burning a hole in his pocket so goes out and buys ten yoyos and a bag of elastic bands.

If you want to look at all the other purchases as opposed to the level of spend, this site will help.

http://www.transferleague.co.uk/premiership-transf...

You will retort though; as a Spud your attitude is that any spend is a good spend.

Just watched MOTD. That Di Maria is surprisingly slow! He was also out muscled off the ball quite a bit!
Good job he's got a bit of skill and a decent pass!!!!

Not seen it yet but from what I hear he was pretty good. As a neutral (honestly! ) it's good to have top players in our top division.

I thought he was good, a few of his passes were very impressive and some great skill with his touches.

He looked out of place in our team tbh.

Well, he couldn't get a game at his last club. No wonder he ran out of steam towards the end.
