Not sure we can be accused of overlooking defence - Rio, Vidic and Evra out, Rojo, Blind and Shaw in.
So you've replaced 2 x experienced CB's with 2 x inexperienced LB's and a defensive midfielder (who can also play at LB).Surely you've got to be hoping for a late deal for Hummels, Vlar who can actually organize things?

Pretty much covers my concerns.I would say another CM in say Vidal and I would be happy.

Congrats on Falcao ...
BBC saying Cleverley's wage demands are too high for Villa ..
Thats the issue many of the smaller clubs have. Picking up fringe players from the top teams and then find that they are demanding too much in wages. Those players certainly need a wake up call and realise that they need to rein in their demands to get first team football. BBC saying Cleverley's wage demands are too high for Villa ..
- demands* ... FFS! Can't he see what's staring him in the face?!

You desperately need a leader in the middle of your defence and it'll be interesting to see what today brings...
I hope we can keep Welbeck.
if anything more and more this is a squad game and with the likes of RVP lets face it nearing teh end of his career and becoming more and more prone to sicknote then we need to maintain strength in depth.
Falcao is a swoop for sure but it will need rooney to play deeper (as I've said for ages is a better position for him) and we go 3-5-1-1...???
last season we were out muscled in midifeld in lots of games, this year defensivle shaky....
Blacketts' distribution on Saturday was worse than woeful. valencia again can't beat the first man with or without the ball...YOung, did ok on saturday going forward but he always hits the first man....
when Anderson is your midfield option from the bench you know you're in trouble....
as someone has tweeted on bbc sport, having Rooney, RVP, Falcao, Welbeck, Di Maria etc is all well and good but if your best centre half is Chris Smalling then....
I thought ADM had a decent debut on saturday, deffo our best option in attack, good on the ball, and at least a threat going froward...

The same UK paper that thinks Daley Blind is an LB as well
The simple facts are that playing in positions for your national team do not a main position make
Rojo played 805 of his games at Sporting as a CB, yes he has the ability to play as an LB but it his not his main position
Daley Blind won Ajax player of the year and then Eredivisie player of the year as a DM
The UK papers hadn't heard of either of these players until the world cup (i'll admit neither have I) and are basing it on that tournament

They are briefing it's a permanent deal but done as a loan in yr1 so united can still buy a centre half
But who the fk cares , we just signed falcao, he going to rock us Amadeus
Makes more sense being a loan deal and making it permanent next year for Monaco's FFP reasons and not ours, no? Seems far more likely to me.But who the fk cares , we just signed falcao, he going to rock us Amadeus
