Is this an Old Boys United XI that we're playing against tonight?

Maybe Suderland are our Outlet Village

Hmmm so you were struggling to get a goal or even create chances so once again he swaps Kagawa into the middle, he creates a couple of chances straight away. Bet he'll put him out wide again. Bonkers. He did this against Swansea then seemed to forget it worked for the Chelsea game.

Cardiff hope to sign Wilfried Zaha in coming days. Loan to end of season. Had medical today #Ccfc awaiting final #mufc approval #bbcfootball
Shame we'll never know what might have been there. So much potential unfulfilled.

I'll freely admit, I don't know that much about some of the players we're being linked with, Vidal? Reus? Gundogan?

He does in the middle, I'd love to see us line up with him central and Januzaj and Mata either side in a 4231

All awesome. Again Reus would mean he is looking to change formation, gundogan and vidal especially would fit in with the standard Utd style of play

We're pretty much playing that tonight I think. Welbeck seems to be on the left most of the time with Kagawa staying pretty central.

Agree

Vidal and Gundogan are very similar, ball winning box to box midfielders, Gundogan I think slightly more defensive and has been out for a while with a back injury. Vidal gets me erect, the closest thing I've seen to Keano since...Keano. Absolutely wonderful player, we should break the bank to get him as I think he could be one of the best midfielders in the world. Gundogan is more than worth buying though both would play in the Carrick/Fletcher position

Reus is a fast pacey winger I know less about him but think he is quite young, very quick, great potential

Vidal rather sounds like a player who might give us a bit back-bone, between him Mata and another CB we'd be heading in the right direction. Here's hoping.

Either Vidal or Gundogan would do that but for me Vidal edges it he genuinely excites me

Commentators saying £37m agreed for Mata; medical tomorrow.

A statement of intent.

Playing some decent stuff in the first half. 60mins in Moyes reverts back to normal. Straight away we look rigid with no movement. What does Kagawa have to do to get 90mins in the 10 role.

And it puts paid to the rumours that the owners are unwilling to back Moyes with their money.

£30 odd million amortised over the period of a new contract is neither here nor there compared with what you will lose by not being in the Champions League. It 's a no brainer.

The transfer talk is all well and good and while it's nice to hear about positivity it's not the whole story is it?

Because surely there's enough talent on the pitch tonight to beat Sunderland more than 1-0? No?

Or do we think a few new arrivals might gee up the rest of the squad?

So how come away goals don't count in this cup? I'd have thought United would have gone through with a 1-0 at home.
