At its worst, the team under LvG is far better than anything Moyes put out. He was terrible. A year more would just have let the rot set in. I genuinely think it would have been the end of Utd for 5 years if he had stuck around. I was amazed how much a manager can fck up a team.

Utd won the league by 11 points out of luck? You couldn't make this st up!

Moyes was sacked for what he said as much as what he did IMO. Totally defeatist rubbish and he clearly lost the dressing room. That was his main problem and his position was untenable once that happened. There was no point in giving him another season & the risk of him cocking it up again was too great. There was no way someone like LVG could do worse and the chances are he would do a lot better - ergo Moyes dug his own grave.

I disagree that we are lucky this season to be where we are because other teams are doing bad. The truth is that Liverpool, Everton or even Tottenham and Arsenal were the lucky ones last season and normality has to an extent resumed and they are where their supposed to be after Liverpools fluke season.

Man Utd went a whole series of games scoring with every chance they had. That was clearly never continue for any length of time.

Man Utd have exactly the same amount of points this season as they did have last season after the same amount of games.

Last season Man Utd were in 7th place with 37 points and 4th so far this year.

Too many teams have dropped too many silly point so far this season and shown little consistency. Spurs seem to be improving whilst Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton aren't what they were last season.

Man Utd are only 4th as other teams are dropping silly points.

I think 4th would be an achievement for Man Utd this season with the squad they have. However once you consider the manager and the money spent, a lot more should be expected.

The worrying thing is the team don't seem to be showing much sign of improvement and you could easily look to replace half the team again.

Any manager who tells Vidic and Rio, one of the best defending partnerships in premier league history that they need to watch Phil Jagielka is clueless imo. Apparently it was this that tipped Vidic over the edge and he announced his departure not long after.

Moyes was ste and lost the dressing room with his ineptness.

Do your talking on the pitch; using that mantra, LVG and the multi millions spent are no better.

My point being that haven't actually scored any more points than last season. It's the exact same.

The only reason they are sitting in 4th is because other teams have been poor this year, not Man Utd improving as a team.

It was the good patch they had for a few weeks that allowed Van Gaal to catch up with Moyes points tally.

In quite a few if those games Man Utd rode their luck and won after being second best in the game and scoring with a very high percentage of chances.

It did used to be a shock when Man Utd dropped points, but they aren't any better than half the teams in the league at the moment.

Yes but multi millions hasn't been spent on central defenders which we desperately need!

On an unrelated note, the girl on Sky's Ballon d'or is an amazingly talented presenter. I'm glued to the coverage. Di Maria was impressed too smile

I'm sure I was shouted down on here when I suggested LVG was the only one not to know where he needed to spend the money. Glad I was right.

That's basically this years standard Adidas template so we won't get that.

I do believe it'll be that simple though and we won't get the white side parts of this fake shirt.

The White stripes on the ribs/a do area are very reminiscent of that Liverpool kit from the 90's, can't see them using something so inspired by one of their most loved rivals, can you?

The sleeve cuffs though are very United in early 90's though, so I think they'll get it right.

Sounds like Di Maria up front and Rooney in midfield is working just as well as it did last time frown
