75% possession so far and with about £200m worth of attack, still cannot score. I presume we are avoiding the mistake of going 2-0 in the away game?

Starting to lose a little faith now.... frown

If we can't start to push properly for the title again by next year with this, something is wrong. That team could be awesome if they can click. Perhaps an additional one or probably two top quality defenders still?

We're more than half way through the season and people are still waiting for the team to click and players to find form. Neither is happening and that team has good individuals, but that isn't a team. Far too top heavy with too many players wanting to play in the same bits. Too much up top, a poor defence and not much of a midfield isn't going to work.

That team will get steamrollered by any team with a good midfield to take a hold of a game.

Defensively it's terrible.

Rooney in midfield is terrible.

RVP and Falcao are past it physically.

Relying on a midfield of Rooney, Di Maria Januzaj to do work defensively is dodgy to say the least leaving Blind to fend for himself.

It's not exactly balanced and certainly nowhere near perfect is it?

I don't think they've had a chance to click. Each game seems to be a different format with different players, not helped with the injury situation throughout the season..

Looks alright to me, give or take a defensive addition/alteration or two.

Needs a quality right back and a box to box midfielder.

LVG has something against our only aggressive midfielder, which leaves us playing Rooney in that role.

The squad is terribly unbalanced, and Falcao is hogst. We are nonetheless still underperforming - on a player-for-player basis we should not be competing with Southampton!

I thought falcao is starting to look like his old self,he has been holding the ball up tremendously well ,his movement has been sharp ,he's missed a few chances but in fairness a couple of those were outstanding saves from keepers.
and I like the way he celebrates every goal goal regardless of who against ,as if he's just scored a last minute winner in the European cup final.

What old self? Almost nobody had seen him play more than a few games before he came to Utd, and he was appraised largely on the basis of a Youtube clip of his best goals. The level of punditry in this country is embarrassing. I imagine that he has always been a good, but not great, player with a lot of sharpness and aggression; now that he is a bit older and a bit injured, he's lost what made him better than average.

Are you saying that basically Utd invested £12M on a player they liked the look of on you tube ?

That would be brilliant!

Turning attention to the upcoming weekend - I see CFC v M City being a draw, United to win and Southampton lose, placing us third and only 5 points behind City...
Is the nurse running late tonight ?
Not so ridiculous a prediction huh? biggrin

Has he? or is he just not quite clicking yet with a midfield & a strike partner (or three) he's hardly played with?

I like him as a player, great movement, works hard, knows the way back to his own penalty area and he's clearly hungry.

....and he's not a diving, cheating tt either from what I've seen so far.

Hope we keep him, looks like a proper United player to me.

I think it was more of a statement to the fans to say we can still get the big name players here, be fair every United supporter was over the moon when he signed.

Theres no way in a million years he'll be signed permanently at Old trafford.
