a number of dissapointing performances that have ended with favourable results was bound to end at some point - the manner of alot of performances this season is starting to catch up...lethargic springs to mind...
The FA cup quarter final is now massive imho...
The Spurs and Liverpool games either side of it aren't going to be much fun either at the moment. The FA cup quarter final is now massive imho...
How much debt do Man Utd still have these days?
It always struck me in the past that they didn't really get drawn into the wage wars to get the players they wanted. They paid good transfer fees and good wages, but not absolute top end like others.
Now it seems that they have indeed been drawn into this more desperate position of paying top money to get players in. Transfer money has gone through the roof and they've had to give huge contracts to Rooney to keep him, plus the new guys too.
The lack of Champions league is also going to hit hard.
Doesn't the sponsorship deals drop in value if Man Utd don't make the Champions League for next season?
It sounds as one problem is adding to another at the moment with the snowball effect the real worry.
Money does talk to attach players of a certain level, and being honest, Man Utd aren't as an attractive team to join as they were just a couple of years ago. Rather than all the joy there is lots of tension and worry around the club. The fear of decline is still strong.
I hear all this talk of another £150-200M to spend on players, but surely they'll fall foul of financial fair play rules if they do?

Big enough club that they can still attract players if they fail to make CL next season. Whether the owners will look at it like that is another matter....Utd at the last accounts said revenues would be down because of no CL football. I think the new monster Adidas contract has sizeable penalties if there's no Cl football. The players don't look like they're enjoying football one bit right now....my guess is if there's no Top 4 LVG will come under a lot of pressure. He'll have to hit the ground running next season that is for sure.
How about this guy, to resurrect our team.

Great goal http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/europe...

However, that's not a half volley as the article attests. /pethate

He's an unpredictable dribbler so not on LVG's radar sadly. Ironically he's probably exactly what we need. Go figure! http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/europe...

We'll be just fine, our leading goalscorer for the first time in 2015 had a shot on target against Swansea...
In other news, Spurs fashioned 27 chances against West Ham...

Regarding us and Top 4, it was always (for me) the aim, at the end of the season if we don't achieve it then I guess questions have to be asked but I cannot see starting all over again with a new manager as a step forward personally.
It's interesting if you look at Chelsea, take Matic out or Costa and they don't look as good despite having superb players in other positions, I think we are similar, we have lots of the component pieces but are lacking those 1 or 2 key players, admittedly I would say ADM is one of those but isnt performing at the moment at all

Yeah, they're miles and miles ahead of us. Their first touch is exceptional, it almost always stays at the player's feet or is perfectly weighted to a team mate.
Our first touches look like a clearance.
Christ, I nearly spat me teeth out! Our first touches look like a clearance.
So true.
So true.
But United do that walking bit ok. Not tica tica but Tick Tock of the grandfather clock.

Christ Barca play some beautiful football, far better than our excuse for football.
Think we'd be embarrassed by them!
It's actually very boring and doesn't seem to do very much. Lots of passing and little going forward. Think we'd be embarrassed by them!
Having 2 of the best forwards in the world doesn't hurt though.

What we do is boring, what Barca are doing is very nice - the pin point passes, not hoofing it upfield hoping it gets somewhere, very different.

What's that I read the other day, Falcao controls it further than he kicks it. Our first touches look like a clearance.
