The Official Manchester United Thread [Vol 4]
Discussion
Barca are absolutely streets ahead of Utd in terms of quality football, but so are Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs...etc etc.
We are utterly dreadful to watch and have been picking up points by deploying Fellaini up front. It is chronic how awful we are given the playing talent available to LVG.
I will say it one more time in the hope that somebody can explain to me what would be wrong with just playing the following team for 5 games straight and seeing what happens! I cannot see it not winning games.
Back 4 - any old crap that we can find, as usual.
Midfield - Di Maria, Blind, Herrera, Janujaz
Forwards - Rooney and Wilson.
Falcao is beyond awful, as is VP. Playing them BOTH is bloody suicide.
Playing a shape designed to get Valencia in on the full-back is beyond stupid. He cannot cross, so it doesn't matter how many times he gets in that position.

How about this guy, to resurrect our team.

Without the tears.
I've got a better option, they say he's Portuguese as well :-)http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/europe...

Get rid of old and tired RvP, place Rooney on the No 10 position, Dimaria hanging on the right. Buy a good defensive midfielder (type Alonso, Lahm, Pirlo) with offensive quality's and place him next to Blind. Buy a good, world class central defender and hope that Falcao gets some of his former glory back in the upcomming months, because good, world class strikers are scarce.

Any chance United had of getting Ronaldo back may well have disappeared this season, especially if they don't make the CL. Would he really want to leave Real to join United at the moment, even with how much he loves the place?Get rid of old and tired RvP, place Rooney on the No 10 position, Dimaria hanging on the right. Him admitting his love for all things Man utd is romantic, but this guy is in it for himself totally. Nothing wrong with that but he wants to be regarded as the best player ever and he won't scupper that by moving back.
Depends, Real have a "strange way" in buying and selling players (Robben, Sneijder, Ozil, Bale, DiMaria) it's seem to be based more on short term financial/commercial gain than anything else. If Manu can give him enough perspective. But your probably right, and the trouble for Manu is that with Rooney, DiMaria, Falcao and RvP out of shape, or whatever you want to call it, theirs very little "world class" about the team.
The Man.City game last night showed the gap between a very good PL side and a CL winning team.
Barcelona, Real and Bayern have world class players on every position at the moment, Manu (and City) clearly not. Just look at the interceptions from Pique last night, or the way Mascherano played, and then I haven't even mentioned Messi, Suarez and Neymar. The first half was a one tough (or two) masterclass.

How bad were Arsenal last night?! Good Lord. Is the Prem absolute turd this year?
I won't profess to being an expert like some, but I have been saying this about the Prem for a while now. Exciting? Yes. Competitive? Yes. Quality? Not really. Some people can't differentiate between exciting and good.

totally agree, been saying this for several years the fact that a completley turd united won the league 2 years ago tells you everything you need to know about how quickly standards have fallen. Some people can't differentiate between exciting and good.
great entertainment but standard wise ,very poor.

I remember in the 80s, Alan Hansen was out with a dead leg for 5 weeks. At the time i couldn't believe that a dead leg could incapacitate one for so long.
Until I got a proper dead leg.....
Absolutely if untreated properly an intramuscular dead leg can be horrendous, these guys get the best medical care so I expect him back at weekend. Until I got a proper dead leg.....

Falcao's last chance I would think - he's going to get a run of games by the look of it.
