so stat fans ,and no cheating ,since 2011/12 who's been the midfielder (includes wingers so Hazard can be included for example) with the most combined total of goals and assists ?

I saw it on Sky Sports News either yesterday or this morning I think, so I won't post the answer. hehe

But when the answer is posted, the minutes played makes it even more impressive.

Does that stat really matter?

I can't see any reason for him to stay, sadly.
He's from Madrid
He's spains no1 keeper
RM need new keeper
His girlfriend lives in Madrid & refuses to move
His family live in Madrid
His friends live in Madrid
RM (admittedly are bigger than ManU)

Only factor is that he was an Athlectico supporter and played for them but it's been long enough gap for him to go there plus I think in this day & age that wouldn't be a factor (Rooney once a blue always a red)

Only saving grace is that he signs contract with us now do that we don't get peanuts for him & hopefully get Bale or Ronnie in return.

I'm gutted at the thought of it but it looks more likely than Ronaldo joining them last time around. How many keepers between the Great Dane & Van Der Sar...13/14?? Very hard position to fill

Hope I'm wrong

Mata has always been class, just think he is getting some belief in your team now, and LVG is helping him fit into a system/team

Might be be controversial but at this point in time I think I'd rather have DDG in the team than Bale or Ronnie.

Agreed. I often reckoned Scmeichel was our most valuable player throughout the 90s

Absolutely sound logic. The guy has been worth 20 points this season on his own.

yes

We simply wouldn't be where we are this season without him, we've also seen how hard it is to replace a keeper. I suspect its inevitable sadly.

Tough call on De Gea but he's not gone yet. Our most successful period had Van Der Sar between the sticks, was he the best in the world at the time? No he wasn't.

Schmeichel had Bruce and Pally, then Stam and Johnsen infont. Edwin had Vida and Rio.

Sort out the defence, which is happening the keeper is less important.

Hardly the united way to be weeping over a keeper. I'm more concerned about replacing RVP and Falcao and banging in the goals.

Well without trying to cast a curse, I'm hoping we're actually starting to shape up at long last. The last two wins were against decent sides and I think we were well worth the win in each game.

I'm thinking we could end up second this season. Wouldn't that be a turn up.....

I'm feeling strange. The expectation of old has gone which makes watching Utd over the last month or so really exciting as the outcome is so uncertain. We we're given no chance against spurs and Liverpool yet delivered in some style. I'd like to see Villa crushed and a derby win then I'll be properly confident of second.

de gea may well be waiting to see if we make the champs leAgue.
Despite his girlfriends comments he is apparently happy here and as I mentioned a while back his parents have strong reservations about him playing for real.so all is not lost .

The way he celebrates wins and goals and the sheer effort he puts into every performance doesn't resemble an unsettled player to me.

According to the Daily Star today, 'United risk losing defensive duo Jones & Smalling due to delaying contract talks'
This intolerable situation could be improved by also adding Evans to the list.
Can't quite believe Phil Jones has been at United for 4 years - he should have developed properly by now so I think it's right to let him go if a decent replacement is found because his injury record just uses up a place in the squad.
Smalling has improved a bit this season but he still looks a massive liability most of the time - he doesn't exude confidence like Vida or Rio in their prime and everyone around him is constantly covering just in case.
Evans is just a backup squad player and hasn't ever looked like being anything more in my eyes.
Let them go, buy some class in and give Rojo and McNair a chance to learn alongside them.
I agree with the consensus though, we've got to keep DDG and personally I'd rather see that than Ronnie back tbh.

Not sure about this. Jones and Smalling are poor, but the other options are absolutely dreadful, and Utd aren't great at buying defenders!

I would keep them both until we have decent replacements that have proved themselves. Rojo looks a 7/10 player to me, and McNair is too raw for us to be able to form any real view yet.

I see your point, but that's the thing - none of those 3 are consistently more than 7/10 players and have all had plenty chance to do better, whereas while Rojo hasn't been any better yet, he might develop given time.
McNair is raw as you say, but I'd say he's as good as Smalling even now and also has the potential to grow whereas the others just won't.
