Love that kit...
You're 100% right about the passion and it's great to see. All these blokes have got full time jobs yet still have time to go down the club and work/play for the club they love. Must admit we haven't got many players left now that started the season but two or three of them have stayed and any success in the future will taste that much sweeter to them, that's for sure.
Yep, I don't even know how they find time. You're 100% right about the passion and it's great to see. Yes, the away kit is a gem isn't it.
Having secured the league tittle on Tueaday night with a 1-0 win away at Northampton Spencer. Today was a home game against Harrowby who themselves wanted to join us in the UCL Premier next season. The game finished 1-1 which was a very fair result and then the players got their hands in the trophy.
I preferred the away kit to be honest. Nice pics again though, nothing better than a trophy to celebrate....
Dreadful 5-1 defeat today at the hands of Roman Glass St George, by all accounts it was the worst performance under the new manager (four months). Puzzling as on Wednesday night against Wells City, they drew 2-2 and it took an absolute fluke last minute goal for Wells to even grab a point!
Three games to go and the season can't end quick enough. Away next Friday to the side that thrashed us today. Can't wait!
Oh dear. Things have got to be better next year?
We've three games to go as well. They're all at home starting with Rothwell Corinthians on Tueaday night. I will probably miss the last game of the season at home to Lutterworth Athletic as I'm going bottle kicking, that'll take some explaining me thinks!

Can't beat football under the floodlights on a school night.
First midweek home game for a few weeks. Very much had an end of season feel to it. Another landmark reached as Rob Morgan one of bright young prospect rounded of a 3-0 win against Rothwell Conrinthians with a fine first time finish and in doing so scored our 150th league goal this season.
Decent turn out again tonight 118 an attendance many at this level would be delighted to acheive.

Well that was a turn up for the book.
Played the team we lost to 5-1 last weekend and after going two up in eight minutes, we eventually held on to win 2-1. Heard on the grapevine that no teams are going down from the lower division so we are safe from relegation although today's result would have meant we weren't going down anyway!!
Not been the best of seasons but after today's win and a fantastically supported Race Night tonight, the campaign is at least ending on something of an up.

I've felt for several weeks now that I was missing a thread somewhere in my Pistonheads and here it is; the place to celebrate lower league football.
My team, Oldland Abbotonians, have a new, enthusiastic and dynamic secretary this season.... me! Yes, I was offered the position during the summer and gladly accepted. I'll say one thing, the paperwork mountain is absolutely enormous. Especially as in two weeks time, we have an FA Vase game v Bradofrd Town which involves yet more red tape and paperwork.
How's the O's season going, I hear you ask? Not three bad really, a season of two halves already. Three games, three defeats to start with and all without scoring a goal. Then, out of nowhere, a lad who was playing for our new under-18s team was drafted into the first team and scored two on his debut on Wednesday night v Calne Town. Looks an exceptional prospect. Won 4-2 and then beat Wellington today 2-1, first time in three seasons we have won two on the bounce.
Difficult games this week coming up with two "local" derbies against Hengrove Athletic and Keynsham Town. That's it from me, I have to enter the match details in Mitoo, write a report on the referee, contact next week's official, sign two new players on, send off today's team sheet, update the league table etc etc etc etc....
Hope Oadby Town are doing well, Alfa?

Bit late but here's my half term report.
Well, after the highs of last seasons fantastic championship winning side we lost every single player, our manager and chairman in the close season. The manager decided he didn't have the time to Manager us due to personal commitments, however suddenly pitched up at Shepshed Dynamo a few months later. All of the players left for 'better' offered elsewhere and then the chairman resigned.
After a very difficult start to the campaign that saw us at the bottom of the table and struggling desperate we've stabilised the club on and off the pitch. We sacked our manager in September and eventually replaced him with Lee Harriman who had previously managed Coalville Town.
Currently we're fourth from bottom, however we've a very young side and we've been playing some lovely football. I think we'll have just enough to survive in the UCLP this season and that's our main aim.
Off to the game today. We're playing Peterborough Northern Star who are challenging for promotion this season so it's a tough game.

What a day yesterday!
Oadby 2 AFC Rushden & Diamonds 0
Our humble little club took on Diamonds who have a wage bill of £3000 a week. Our weekly wage bill is about £350!
We barely gave them a sniff throughout the fame and scored twice in the final 10 mins to win the game. Cracking attendance as well. We normally get about 130 but yesterday we drew a crowd of 389. Excellent atmosphere and some first time visitors to Oadby said they'd be coming again.

Barton Rovers are up to 4th in Southern League Div1 Central, on a cracking run at the moment despite losing the star striker to Crystal Palace in January. Hoping they can keep it up and get a shot at the playoffs.
Not bad for a village team!
Barton-Le-Clay is a nice little place too. Not bad for a village team!
Great day for Maidstone Utd as todays 0-0 draw with Dulwich Hamlet coupled with Hendons failure to win at Grays means they have effectively won the Ryman Premier League and gained promotion to the Conference League South. With a 20 plus gd its as good as in the bag as Hendon can now only match our points.
Great great day

Nice one Stinkfoot... Great great day
Had some rare old battles with Maidstone in our Conference days, were a very strong non-league team back in the day. Hope they get all the way back again...
