I'm no fan of Townsend but he changed the game when he came on. What was really pleasing was the spirit we showed when we went down to ten following a poor decision I know plenty of spurs teamsthat would have used that as an excuse to let their heads go down.
Also what the he'll was our centre back doing in that position in the last min of the game

Ade did nothing all game. He should have been subbed earlier. I didn't think Rose was that bad either. As for the famous pressing game, the only thing I saw of that was one of the fullbacks up front in the last minute of the match. Seemed to have worked.

Great, we've spent nearly 30m on a player who is good at being confident. Skill wise he looked a little bit better than last season.Grumpy old so & so .

I went to the game yesterday (my first away game) - great atmosphere. Both the linesman and Adrian (WH goalkeeper) didn't endear themselves to the Spurs fans. Townsend > Lennon
Lamela > Eriksen.

Tbh, we were poor. Going forward we lacked invention. Ade did very little and looked lethargic, very few runs made. There were a few sparks in the second half with Townsend coming on - at least he ran at the West Ham defence and was willing to give it a go. For some reason we seemed insistent on playing a very narrow game, WH got players behind the ball and made it difficult. There a lot of edge of the box play in which we did nothing.
Really shabby in defence. Every ball West Ham put in the box they managed to get a head to it. If Kaboul is going to be captain he's got to boss the defence and take control (Vidic/Ferdinand style). Luckily WH had Cole upfront (useless) but another mode decent team would have punished us multiple times.
I think Danny Rose did ok tbh. Decent effort and some good challenges.
In addition - wtf is with the short corners? Get the ball in the box!
I know we've got a lot of players to come back but if we want to challenge for the top 4, we'll have to do a lot better.

Lloris is worth his weight in gold & i thought Kaboul after a dodgy start was a rock in the second half.
I thought poch got it spot on bringing on Townsend, Holtby & Kane .
