This is often said but completely untrue when he first joined us he was excellent, scored a couple of goals as well (inc one against the arse) anyone could see that he was a star in the making.
What went wrong with bale after that was him getting injured, and then 'arry ignoring him for a year after that, it then took the genius harry a further year after that to realise that he was a left winger not a left back.
Once he was injury free and put in his proper position he tore up the league.
Completely agree. First game I saw him I was amazed at how quick, powerful and confident such a young lad was. But even then I thought his performance was a bit of a fluke. What went wrong with bale after that was him getting injured, and then 'arry ignoring him for a year after that, it then took the genius harry a further year after that to realise that he was a left winger not a left back.
Once he was injury free and put in his proper position he tore up the league.
Next game was the same. Then the next. Then the next.
Then unfortunately what you said happened but it worked out well in the end.

M3seye,
Ignore all the misery guts. Staying in Heathrow or Wimbledon is absolutely nothing like staying in Central London. They are just much too old. Ive stayed in Leicester Square and various other tourist sites and the hotels are perfectly well soundproofed.
Cant comment on the hotels you mentioned but I have yet to stay in a st Central London hotel so the one you looked at sounds fine. Property is so expensive in that area that it must be nice logically.

Yes it is
'He made his competitive debut for Tottenham Hotspur on 26 August away against Manchester United. In just his second Spurs appearance, he scored his first goal for Tottenham in the 3–3 draw with Fulham on 1 September when he latched on to Robbie Keane's flick, charged down the left flank unopposed and coolly slotted past goalkeeper Antti Niemi.[38] Bale went on to score again against Arsenal in the North London derby, scoring a free kick inside the near post.[39] He then scored in the League Cup home tie against Middlesbrough,[40] making it three goals in four starts for the then 18-year-old.'
only one of those was a cup game the other were PL games against utd, Arsenal and Fulham.
Sorry, you're saying that 24 appearances for a club, including 20 starts and not notching up one win, not being regarded as an important player to the squad and worse still being called a 'curse' ISN'T a disastrous start? His first few matches were very promising and then he st spiralled and then got injured. Townsend could be said to have done pretty similarly. Some great performances but generally underwhelming and then injured despite displaying obvious talent.'He made his competitive debut for Tottenham Hotspur on 26 August away against Manchester United. It's so easy to say 'oh Bale was just unlucky/misused' now he's one of the best players in the world. But when he was just starting out for Spurs, the general consensus was a LONG way from thinking he was going to get where he is today.

Robbie I was there for pretty much all his games I promise you it was blatantly obvious from minute one that we had a star on our hands. It's so easy to say 'oh Bale was just unlucky/misused' now he's one of the best players in the world. To compare him and Townsend is ridiculous imo.
