Based on the turgid, flair free displays on show last night, too right.

Nice. What channel is it on?
RTS1 or Arena Sport 1 I expect, I don't have Thursday's full TV listings for Serbia to hand.

Yeah, i forgot its been a while since your team played in any European League but basically the supposedly top teams from leagues around Europe (though its generally those that spend the most, big fish in minnow leagues or teams that get lucky by playing above their weight/one man teams/not playing as many games as others) play on Tuesday/Weds and supporters only get to see their team play during the group stages once.

On Thursday you get the almost ran's, these teams dont quite have the money to compete with the big boys (should they be in a big pond league) and so their squad depth isnt all quality unfortunately. However, as a 'fan', you get to see them on tv for most games via ITV4 instead of the once.

Was on the local news here in Dubai this morning about a possible buyer for the club. Through various links, it would ultimately be owned by an Abu Dhabi investment fund.

I'll see if I can find anything more concrete.

Edit - Here we go. http://www.thenational.ae/business/economy/with-to...

Hmmm...with the FFP rules I don't think any new owner has the ability to just spend money like most clubs have done in the past...and reading that, it sounds like Spurs could become a London property purchase (with a football club attached).

Is this the same FFP rules that teams get by, by paying £50m fine?

That's a pretty big fine for a first offense. The punishments only getter harsher.

This summer City didn't really spend big (because they can't and comply with FFP).

Which will no doubt count against them next year when they get assessed again.

As I said, this is the first year of assessment and they've had a massive fine, plus squad reduction in Europe.

They've had to curtail their transfer spending this summer...let's see what happens next year.

At last the proper European competition continues.

Lloris (c), Naughton, Fazio, Vertonghen, Davies; Bentaleb, Stambouli; Lennon, Paulinho, Townsend; Kane

I somehow cant see any of the big spenders being excluded from the Comp tbh, look at what happened to Barcelona this season, no transfers allowed to them being allowed to. Money talks unfortunately and theyll do fk all next year against those that dont comply bar 'fine' them

And if that is the case, then it's a waste of time and it won't stop any new buyer spending loads of money...but we won't know until next year what a second year punishment looks like.

The Chumps league is so rigged it's untrue , it's just manufactured to get the big TV supported teams into the last 4 .

Barca & Madrid get away with murder when it comes to FFP
