Is this your way of telling us that you had a Peter Beardsley poster on your bedroom wall?

Everytime I have seen that photo, I keep thinking it is fancy dress. Dressed as a clown with red hair, and what outfit could make you look more of a clown than that shirt? smile

I do feel his pain though, somewhere in the family albums there is a photo of me wearing this:-

The reason - it is 1981 and it is the Jubilee and I am 5 years old. I had been water fighting with some kids up the road, and my parents were enjoying the festivities, and could not be bothered to walk home and get me a change of clothes. They forced me into it. Still makes me feel sick now...... wink

I understood what was going on though, and Xmas 1981 I received this:-

Was my pride and joy and I wore it every day I could.

It's Spurs biggest game of the season, their players knew that and their fans made sure they never forgot it. The only envy I have about Spurs is the atmosphere that was generated yesterday, it was electtric and they really inspired their team.

As for excuses BCM there aren't any. However, I would make the observation that if we win the NLD we crow about it for a couple of days then move on, where as Spuds go on about if for months. There in lies the difference between the expectations of the two sets of supporters.

In short even in defeat I'm amused by the small club mentality of Spurs fans.
The difference between Spurs and Arsenal is that we know we aren't very good, whereas you think you are.

Neither club has any chance of winning the league whilst the doped clubs exist and neither club has any chance of winning the CL. Sure, you may qualify every year but at the start of each season, you have as much chance of winning it as we do. Zero. Every season for the last 6 or 7 years, the clubs have only been separated by a handful of points. We're much closer in ability than you'd care to admit. You may think that you are a cut above us because you play CL every season; that your competitors are Chelsea, Bayern, Barca and Madrd. But the truth is, you're just making up the numbers - like non-league clubs in the FA Cup.

We've been on an upward curve for the last 6-7 years - and we couldn't have got much lower! Whereas you've been on a downward curve over the same period. There is a little to separate the teams now, except for the NLD results.

We may have a small club mentality but that's because we know that we are, in the greater scheme of things. What's far more amusing is your big club mentality, when in fact your performances are nothing of the sort, unless you are only interested in the annual "Football Rich List Table".
Well put. The delusions of grandeur from Arsenal because they tend to finish a place above Spurs is bewildering.
And Alfa trying to claim that we won yesterday because they didn't really care whilst it was our biggest game of the season is embarrassing and cringeworthy.
At least when we lose to Arsenal we have a touch more dignity. I think that must be the result of everything you said TP

There is a delicious irony in a Gooner taking the time & effort to post on a Spurs thread, about how they don't care about the result as much as we do....

If I honestly believed we're a good side I wouldn't have spent the last 3 to 4 years calling for Sleeping Bag Man to get the boot would I?

Think about it!

I believe we have the resources to compete with the biggest and best clubs in the europe. Unfortunately, whilst Wenger and his chums on the board are here we'll always be the bridesmaid and never the bride.

This upward curve of yours. Does that disregard the fact that in each of the last 2 seasons you've finished a place below the season before in the league?

You qualified for the Champions League in 2010 and haven't done so since. That's not indicative of a club on a upward curve, this is further underlined by the fact the club has had 4 different permanent managers in that time.

What you can say is the club (Spurs) would appear to be on an upward curve this season, certainly over the last few months. I think this represents the most credible threat in terms of local bragging rights that we've faced in recent years to be honest.

Alfahorn's dismissal of over 100 years of intense rivalry leads me to believe that he's one of those who believes football began with the Premier League.

hehe
Where have I said I dismiss the rivalry?

You lot are not the brightest are you.
It's not what you said, it's what you implied. smile
I implied nothing, you made an assumption.

Carry on believing what you like.

Far from it, it the result matters immensely to both clubs. However, I think given the recent history of results in the NLD Tottenham haven't had many opportunities to rub it in. Therefore it's reasonable to expect you'll crow about it more.

Bragging rights? We've played each home and away and you've drawn one and lost one. That's pretty clear cut to me. Or shall we wait until the end of the season and compare silverware? If we'd don't finish in the top 4, I certainly hope that you do. It'll give that nice Mr Wenger another year in charge hehe

Ok ok. We get it that you don't care. How many posts do you have to make about not caring?

Id take a draw now to be honest.

What do people think we'll do with the team? Id probably change lamela for chadli otherwise the same team. Think we'll need Dier's pace at CB with sterling and sturidge likely to play.
