ETA: My favourite so far is Net Debt. Chelsea are the lowest on the list as they don't have any debt...however the note at the bottom of the page says "Chelsea have net funds in the football club accounts, but £958m net debt in their holding company." £958 Million!!!
Man Utd are top with net debt of less than £300 Million, financial doping by Chelsea at its finest!

Does it really matter though? I swear I'm typing the same thing every week these days. Kick off is 7 minutes later than usual. So what? 7 minutes. It's for a good cause, is it really worth getting upset about? Oh st, girls are taking selfies for Cancer Research. How dare they fill my Facebook feed with their face to raise money! I had to scroll one click more than usual. The outrage.
(This wasn't really at you Smarty, it's just I've seen lots of people moaning about the 7 minute later kick off today.)

Playing devils advocate for a minute surely there comes a point when we can just let it rest...that and the Manchester Utd plane crash.
Both are tragic events but there are other equally upsetting tragedies that don't get the same sort of annual attention. I mean the Kegworth disaster was merely 2 months before hillsborough but gets almost zero coverage...and 47 died in that. Likewise we no longer commemorate the Ibrox disaster in 1971 which killed 66 people.
I'm not decrying the Hillsborough disaster merely pointing out that its about time we left these 25 year old (and longer) disasters slip into the past gracefully.
Certainly, if the United and Liverpool fans want to do something each year then fine but I'm not sure that the rest of football should be involved in it any more.
I can see what you are saying and certainly for Munich apart from the larger anniversaries I think that is more a Man Utd fans thing. The thing is with Hillsborough though is that more and more horrible facts about the lies the police told and the way they treated the families keep coming out and I think until all the questions are satisfied its completely right that it is kept in the public eye.
We've all been to matches and seen the Police acting in a way they shouldn't to this day, football fans are treated like scum still regardless of whether they have done anything wrong all because of the 80's

For the most part I agree. Both are tragic events but there are other equally upsetting tragedies that don't get the same sort of annual attention. Certainly, if the United and Liverpool fans want to do something each year then fine but I'm not sure that the rest of football should be involved in it any more.
However, IMO, Hillsborough is different due to the Police's behavior on the day, the subsequent cover up and diversion of blame on to the supporters.
Once the truth is fully revealed, and those responsible are identified and suitably punished, the families can get proper closure and it will become a private matter for Liverpool supporters.

I'd go along with that were it not for the repeated cover ups & shameful abdication of responsibility by the Police, coroner, successive governments & everyone else involved. Hopefully this latest inquest will lay to rest the injustice & then we should move on from it.Both are tragic events but there are other equally upsetting tragedies that don't get the same sort of annual attention. I agree with the rest of your post but there is no actual "cause" involved is there?Nothing is achieved at all.
And there's a lot of pussy footing around but lets be honest - we don't actually care do we?
Im not saying it wasn't tragic at the time, but in context of world tragedies, some people none of us knew dying in a stadium 25 years ago is not even on our radar. It took real effort to type "Im not saying it wasn't tragic at the time".

Hopefully once the truth is out about Hillsborough it will be easier for people to move on.
Agree with all with regards to Hillsborough, hopefully this latest inquest will bring a close and it can then be left to those who were affected to remember that awful day.
It's great to see the solidarity of all the teams in the prem standing behind the cause, but after 25 yeas it has got a bit tiresome. With that said would this new inquest be happening if it wasn't for the commotion every year? I'm not so sure.
