whereas we need

How many games do Liverpool fans expect from Gerrard this season? I would have thought he'd be automatic choice for the CL games, but I can't see his legs managing that and all the PL games as well.

How many seasons do people think Gerrard has left where he's an automatic choice? I think if he's got 2 dynamic midfielders in front of him in the style of Henderson/Allen then at least another 2. Is Lallana anywhere near as dynamic as Henderson or Allen?

Last season he had a week between games to recover. He's 34 this forthcoming season with 3 or 4 days recovery time between games (assuming CL progression and a run in the FA and Micky Mouse cups).

I'd be amazed if he was able to be fit for all the games all season without being rested.

True, that's why we've also got Henders, Allen, Can and Lallana. So he's misses a few PL games - I still expect him to be the first name on the teamsheet for 95% of games.

Its a shame he has retired on such a low for his country but I suppose with England he was never going to finish on a high anyway, I bet it wasn't an easy decision for him because I think many wanted him to stay on but I do think its great he hasn't the distraction of playing for England going forward.

You could do that with a hell of a lot of players - but in reality so bloody what, if he performs he is if he doesn't he isn't....

Anyone else thinking maybe a big signing to come? number 7 still available even with all the new players we have signed, cant see Remy taking it.
