Once again with the...wtf is with the llama bashing??? Were you lot watching a different league to me last yr??? He is THE stand out buy for me.
He looks like he can change a game on MoTD! And on the odd occasion, he will. But game in, game out, your lad Sterling is way better!curlie467 said:
Squad depth ffs
Amazing how many people miss this, we lost one of our main players last year we had a youngster to come in, this year we have quality....will make a massive differenceWe just need to get another forward in and a LB of quality... although I still have a feeling Enrique might have a big year.
So far Lovren and Lallana are starting 11 players imo. The rest is adding depth to the squad. Overall, without a 20 goal a season striker, we are much weaker than last year.
Sturrdige on his own will just get marked out and will no way have the space he enjoyed with Suarez. Hopefully we were going to buy someone anyway and the Remy money saved only adds to our kitty to go after a striker.

Barrett - "#Rodgers knows what he wants from the remaining weeks of the summer transfer window - another forward & two full backs"
Barrett - "there is an acceptance behind the scenes at Anfield that finding a goalscorer who has what Remy offers will not be easy"

Id give Raheem a run partnering or playing just off Sturridge. The runnig line and pace scare defenders senseless and Sterling has learnt composure. His goal against City changed my perception to be honest. I think those two can give you 15 goals apiece in the League and 20 each over a season. Play AL, JH and PC behind them with Stevie quarterbacking and thats a cracking starting attack for me.

And when Sturridge gets injured?I think we should offer Chelsea £10m for Torres
We have Enrique as LB and Flanno for RB. Do we really need to buy Moreno? Is £20m quite a bit of money for a player that no fan has hardly seen?
I love watching Flanno play. He's a proper scouser and he done quite well at LB last season. Not even his preferred position.
However Enrique is injury prone. That could be a reason to buy a LB.
We do need a striker but like Hornetrider has said who is out there?

I agreebut what hapopens when Sturridge gets injured? City bring on Negredo, Chelsea bring on Schurrle, I think Lambert will be good and will take some marking but a very different player to Sturridge

Deffo no to Torres for me, he is a confidence player and he is not going to get that sat on our bench... one of his biggest traits was pace and that has gone so we should just forget himWe have Enrique as LB and Flanno for RB. As for who is out there, I tend to trust the scouts not us fans that really dont watch that much football apart from the odd big game in spain or italy (bar the prem) just because we dont know them does not mean they are not decent.
We will deffo have a big problem if DS gets injured and we have not brought anyone in though..if he does not agree on someone and says we will wait till jan, who is gonna be avail jan that A)they dont know about now b) wont cost more due to Jan prices? risky game for me
Such a shame Sanchez didn't come. He would have been perfect.
Bony would be around £20m and is going nowhere unless they get an "astronomical offer":
Looking back at his goals for the swans last year, he has got the lot. Left foot, right foot, headers, tap ins and 30 yard screamers. And at 25, the perfect age:

Only thing I see with him against Remy is he is an out and out number 9 like DS - whereas Remy could quite happily interchange with DS...Bony would be around £20m and is going nowhere unless they get an "astronomical offer":

Not sure he would be happy to play 2nd fiddge to DS? Or be pushed out wide?

I think Torres would do a job for £10m but I don't think Chelsea would let him for go for that much, especially to us.As for who is out there, I tend to trust the scouts not us fans that really dont watch that much football apart from the odd big game in spain or italy (bar the prem) just because we dont know them does not mean they are not decent.

As for Moreno, I spoke to a couple of Sevilla fans on Twitter and they said they should snap our hands off for £18m for Moreno.
Many fans are saying pay the extra, but if the club don't think he is good enough to pay £20m for then I say just walk away. If he turned out no better than Enrique and we had paid £20m for him then the club would have been slated by the fans.
I think we will end up paying £20m for Bony. Would love to bid £35m for Reus though.

My thoughts exactly regarding Bony. If we do sign a £20m+ striker am I right in saying they have to start and they will want to start? Not sure he would be happy to play 2nd fiddge to DS? Or be pushed out wide?
We would have a brilliant squad however and we would have pretty decent players on the bench where as in the past we have never had that.

I don't see how you can play Bony in the same team as sturridge, bony is just basically a not as good version of DS. Not sure he would be happy to play 2nd fiddge to DS? Or be pushed out wide?
