So that's the end of the signings we knew about. Left back has gone quiet and less than 3 weeks before the season starts and we have no idea who will come in as a striker. BR must have his entire scouting team playing back Southampton and Swansea videos.
Think we'll start to see deals agreed for Reina, Agger, Lucas, Assaidi and Borini next.

In reality Glen it's just not about who you, me or Raja have heard of! This is why we have scouts ou there watching games we would never dream of, leagues we don't care about etc

It is though Sye. There'll be schoolkids mashing their keyboards across Merseyside if we don't get a marquee striker, as they'll be losing playground top trumps. Marquee means someone we've all heard of in the 25m+ bracket. Anything else just won't be good enough for them.

king Barotelli. Think I gave a list of potential players last week. Some have been sold, off the top of my head there's still Jackson Martinez. And like Sye said, the club have scouts. I refuse to believe that there isn't a striker out there that we could sign that would compete/complement/rotate with Sturridge.
The question I have for you Glen is, do you think we should be going into the new season with a surplus net spend and only Sturridge as a plan A striker? It's incompetence if we end up in this situation.

I'm not panicking just yet
Rodgers expected Remy to go through so we have to give them sometime to sort out a replacement
Not too fussed if he is a big name , even though it would be nice be better of someone can come in and do a job !!
Wonder if Remy could be picked up on a loan??

I think Martinez is actually a good call.I do also agree we need to buy a top drawer striker, but I think there are lots of twists and turns to happen before one becomes available. Real Madrid need to shift players as do PSG.
It will be interesting to see if their moves kick start the transfer window into a frenzy. But like Sye said i am also not panicking just yet.
On the 15th of Aug and we still only have Borrini Studge and Lambert, then I will start to panic.
I have a feeling he will start with that and it may go to the end of aug ! So long as one comes in this window I'll be fine! If he says jan Ill be livid !

Pace, movement, finishing. All of our best strikers in the modern era have had all 3. Rush, Fowler, Owen, Torres, Suarez, Sturridge. Does Bony have all 3? I don't think so. He's not a good fit for us.
We need a 3rd striker though so no wonder names are being bandied about. I'm off to google who was top scorer in the Peruvian premier league.
