So that's the end of the signings we knew about. Left back has gone quiet and less than 3 weeks before the season starts and we have no idea who will come in as a striker. BR must have his entire scouting team playing back Southampton and Swansea videos.

Think we'll start to see deals agreed for Reina, Agger, Lucas, Assaidi and Borini next.
I wouldn't pacnic just yet, its worth remembering this summer we already had a tough ask to take a decent premiership squad that had over performed if we are all honest to take 2nd place, and build it to not only compete for top 4/win the league next year, play in champions league, but now also do this without its star player.

A new full back is a must, and its worrying its gone quiet on that front, wonder if we will be back in for Moneo, i hope so.

Up front BR clearly still wants signings, remy heart problem clearly took the transfer team by surprise, but i think Bony at 20m is over priced and i would stay clear.

Reina will be moved on to get his wages off the books, as most likely will be Agger, which is a shame as i still rate Agger.

The club also faces the problem of wanting to get the up and coming talent, while trying to strengthen for the now and present.

I think Martinez is actually a good call.
Really? Can't see JWH getting rid of Rodgers after the season he's just had.... tongue out

Great minds think alike, I tipped him a few pages ago. Seriously though, Martinez would be a good shout. Had a quiet-ish World Cup but has pace, power and that air of unpredictability about him.

Once Everton conclude the Lukaku deal. They'll have a net spend of £28m. Liverpool, although have spent near £90m, net spend is approx £12m.

+ we made £12.5m more than them on tv money last year -

Need to up our game wink

Anyone who doesn't see this as success is deluded. If we manage that, ideally a Semi final or two in the League & FA Cup, we should be able to continue to build.

Having watched being:Liverpool I still think rodgers is a charlatan.

Will be interested to see if last season was a fluke/ how he manages without Suarez. Will no doubt be derided as a troll but I can remember eg Taylor and Gregory both having one good season with Villa then nothing so one swallow does not make a summer and all that.

Certainly made it interesting last season you guys putting in a strong challenge and you could have won it (had we not had games in hand ...) and be good to see you at least finish above United but I think having no mid week commitments and pretty much playing a settled 11 all season (my perception, will no doubt be shot down if I'm wrong on this) helped you a lot and that the mid week games will be a big challenge this season.

Are you happy with your signings to date? Obviously still a bit of time left but you need to replace Suarez's goals which is the one thing you haven't done yet.

If anyone wants to know how Brendan will do without Suarez why not go and check the results for all the games we had Suarez out due to bans?

I think the one thing that is for sure is that teams will certainly line up differently knowing what to expect from Liverpool this season & will probably park plenty of buses & try & dismantle you the way Jose did at the end of last season.

This season could be the most amazing or possibly the most frustrating season for a Liverpool fan,

Either way us non Pool fans will be watching with eager anticipation

Oops nearly forgot..;)

I appreciate what you're saying, but over the whole season he would have been a big loss.

Do you think you would have finished second without him?

the difference is this year we have alot more options off the bench if teams do park the bus.

(hopefully)

Eh, you do know we have just paid 20m for Lovren dont you ?
Of course. My point is that if he's good enough for Barca, he's good enough for us. Either that or 12mn is not enough.

Without him and no one else to replace him? No, it would be ridiculous to say a team wouldn't suffer without their leading goalscorer and (one of) best player.

However, who can say, if we sold him last summer and brought him someone else to (try) make up the goals? Maybe not second, but I still think we would have been top four last season, even without Suarez and no one to replace him.

I think (hope) that Rogers will have developed a bit from last season. The Chelsea game was perhaps the one that was most messed up - he needs to know when to hold back somewhat in a few cases. The attacking football is great, but defencive games will be needed now and then.

I don't think you'll find a Liverpool fan who disagrees about the lack of games/ having a settled team helped us a lot. However that then comes to your nest questions. The sigining have been good to build up the depth of the squad, plus a few to improve it. Lovren could be key, as the main problem with defence last season is there was no leader - they all paniced and looked to each other. The main worry I have is the number of new players could create a problem in the team gelling - might take a while which could affect how the season pans out. Plus the problem BR will now face is the increased expectation this season has caused.
