Wow, things seemed to have moved quickly on this one.

The price is right. Just got to hope BR can manage him mentally, the team culture rubs off on him and he knuckles down.

Guardian article suggests he'd need to be paid £155k a week just to maintain parity with his Milan deal.

If he wants £100k net - then you are looking at £190k a week. Which probably explains why is transfer fee is considered "low".
You know absolutely nothing about Liverpool if you think we will offer him 190k
SO you aren't going to sign him, is that what you are saying?

The Guardian article states he'll earn £4.3m after tax a year. I work that out to be less than £85k a week after tax, or £150-160k before tax.
Which is exactly what I said. The same post linked to the DM article which quoted £100k a week NET - which is £190k a week.

Why all the vitriol?

Clearly what he's saying is its unlikely we'd be signing him on the basis of figures you pulled out of a month old article about Arsenal's interest in him.

Vitriol? Do you know what that word means?

I didn't see your post, just the exchange between Sye and ascayman talking about 190k a week.

I agree. It's unlikely you'll sign him, if you are privy to Liverpool's salary limits.

Which of these 3 are most likely?

He'll take a pay cut

He'll want the same as he is currently on

He'll want more than he is currently on

I'd suggest that he won't be taking a pay cut - so you're looking at £155k a week minimum. History would dictate that a player usually wants a pay rise when moving.

When Suarez was on 200k a week - he had to earn it - it also included MASSIVE goal bonuses

FSG will not be paying him 190k a week as soon as he walks in the door

Be more like 100k a week with potential to earn 160-180k a week if he plays and scores

His record at Milan was

26 in 37 - where he started all the games
At City where he was used as sub a lot
20 in 33

[12:17:43] Simon Harris: 20 in 33 city (lot of subs)

So sye,

Thought you didn't fancy Balotelli? Change of heart because it looks like he's coming in?

So Mourinho, tell me, who was the most problematic player you had to deal with?

I that case I wish Liverpool FC and Mario Ballotelli the best of luck in their contract negotiations beer

Why are all these spuds fans so interested in who we are signing and how much they get paid?

Haven't you got bigger problems closer to home? And by that I mean your squad is st and you haven't signed any players of note.

I said Bony would have been my preference - also thought he would be more like 25m -

He can score we all know that - just his lack of running that worries me - but then you have to trust the manager knows what he is doing?

£16m fee agreed. Just a case of agreeing personal terms now in terms of Balotelli's move to Anfield #LFC

Everything done with the club, now its just the player - if physio done today and he is registered before 12 noon tomorrow he can play Monday

Wonder if this is why things are moving so quickly?

£16m is a decent price for a young striker that has champions league and premier league experiemce.

So Balotelli = Borini + £2m? Good business in my eyes.

Swap the 'b' and the 'a' for a 'c' and a 'u' and you're spot on...

I'm interested in all football and the Scouse signing Ballotelli is a big story worthy of discussion. This seemed the appropriate thread to talk about it.

I'll save my "bantz" for once you've signed him and he's flounced & flopped hehe
