£16m fee agreed. Just a case of agreeing personal terms now in terms of Balotelli's move to Anfield #LFC
Everything done with the club, now its just the player - if physio done today and he is registered before 12 noon tomorrow he can play Monday
Wonder if this is why things are moving so quickly?
He's only just left the Milan training ground an hour or so ago (according to Twitter). He'd better get his skates on (or better still, a plane). Apparently his agent is in Liverpool now.£16m fee agreed. Just a case of agreeing personal terms now in terms of Balotelli's move to Anfield #LFC

I would hope it'll all be tied up by midday tomorrow. Sort out paperwork today, medical tomorrow morning. Unless there is a hiccup with the contract I can't see why would won't have it done by midday tomorrow.m3sye said:

I want him on the bench for Monday night. I'm a football fan I don't care about how much a week a player gets paid. If he scores 20 league goals no one will care.
17 million to buy him is a good deal for us. Sturridge came to us with a reputation, as did Suarez. I'd rather Balotelli than £3million in the bank and Borini on the bench.

Why are all these spuds fans so interested in who we are signing and how much they get paid?
Apparently its called "bantz" or sometimes "top bantz".For the record there was no "bantz" simply a discussion about the big move of the day, until you chaps made it otherwise.

- Balotelli agent Raiola will be in Liverpool to meet #LFC directors in some minutes. It's time for his contract. Then, Mario will fly to UK

Will be very interesting to see how him and Sturridge hit it off. They are both pretty selfish as strikers (which can be a positive thing for a striker) so I wonder how well it will work with them both in the team.
It will either work wonders or be a frigging nightmare.
Yeah should be interesting, nice to have the options though - With Origi coming next year too .....It will either work wonders or be a frigging nightmare.

You say they are both selfish (and without knowing the following I'd be inclined to agree with you) but looking at the stats, both got a fair few assists last season. It will either work wonders or be a frigging nightmare.

Having Suarez as your striking partner will certainly help with the assists column...Sturridge has definitely improved as a team player under Rodgers but there were still many instances last season where I saw him shoot when a pass would have been the better option.
Balotelli is more selfish in the sense he doesn't work hard for the team when on the back foot.
'Selfish' was probably the wrong word to use. Single-minded in wanting to score goals is probably a better description.
As I said, his partnership with Suarez last season helped him a lot but in his early days I thought his decision-making was a little off usually with both eyes on the glory of the goal.
Just an opinion really, not based on anything other than observations.
I like my strikers selfish anyway!

Wow, this moved fast. I think he's a talented player. Maybe he thinks that this is his last chance to realise his talent as he'll get a lot of service and be playing in some big games. Or maybe he's the next Anelka....
Exciting times either way though
Loving your posts Tidybeard, and completely agree that it is exciting times either way Exciting times either way though
He brings passion and excitement to the game, in a similar vain to Suarez.
No one could replace Suarez, but we all knew that anyway
