Sadly not much can be done when buying the day before. If you are going with your Mrs you could buy a two together railcard though and save £20-£30.
Ok thanks - will get her to sort wink

Interesting developments tonight. Could be credible given that BR was at Reading with him....

http://metro.co.uk/2014/08/29/liverpool-in-transfe...

He was on loan with us a few years back and was outstanding. He also had a blinding game against you lot a couple of seasons back where he pretty much single handedly kept you out. Great keeper and would be a genuine challenge to Mignolet which is what some have suggested needs to happen.

I remember that game. He was tremendous. You obviously rate him Mart. Is he highly regarded? Must be one of the best keepers outside the PL.

I'd take him. Mignolet needs a rocket up his arse. However being a Metro link, I will take with a pinch of salt.

He is regarded highly, GG. His career has stalled a little as Reading's manager seems to alternate between Adam Federici and McCarthy. Definitely one of the best outside the Premier League, better than a few inside it too.

Four million quid isn't that much nowadays, especially as you have the UCL windfall this year.

I actually remember you saying how good a player he was mart, shame we missed him as he's now signed for QPR.

Aww shucks, that'll learn me for believing a Metro link. frown

At least I can file it in its true and proper place in the rumour mill - just inbetween the Daily Express and BCM's pronouncements.

Ian, I reckon tickets are going to be really tough to get hold of- As an ex-Kemlyn Road season ticket holder (shwoing my age) and now resident/supporting FCB in Basel, I've been waiting for this draw for years!

FCB's usual approach (especially if they draw someone tasty, like Real or Barca; I think Liverpool would also fit this category) is to only sell a package of tickets for all 3 group matches, for the usual extortionate price (reckon on 250-300 CHF). But I'm going to try anyway. Might also consider popping back to Anfield in December, we'll have to see!

Being in with the Basel fans would be no problem- it's just Zurich that we hate! wink
Ah interesting. I've just looked on the FCB website and you're right: The first phase of ticket sales will be a block of three. If you think it would be ok in the home end, I think I'll look at getting them. Assuming you mean CHF 250-300 for all three games and not per match! I'd be quite happy to watch the three games and support Basel in the other two.

I am surprised he is moving back to Brondby so early; he certainly has at least 2 or 3 years left in the Premier League. Surprised no one has come in for him especially after being linked to Barca. If he does go, wish him all the best. Just like Reina, was a loyal servant to the club.

In a way it is quite refreshing. Here is a player still being touted by the top clubs in Europe, had quite a few opportunities to leave Liverpool being linked to Milan quite a number of years back and Barca as recently as last month. He is obviously wanting to go back home and it would seem to me for the right reasons. To be closer to his family, to play for his boyhood club whilst still in his prime. Money has consigned loyalty and morals in football to the proverbial dustbin - so it's a nice surprise to have a player who is making the right choice for the right reasons.

Good post, a slightly sad end to his time at LFC though, not getting regular game time.

I am quite excited about tomorrow, should be a cracking game smile

Wish him all the best if he does go.
Will have enough money to not need to play in the premier league and can go back to his first club where the supporters will love him.
Hear of too many players who move to the far east purely for money nowadays.

Yeah fair enough. I just expected better that's all. More ambition.

If Barca et al were really after him, he wouldn't be thinking of Brondby.

I see Liverpool have confirmed the move...bit surprised as I thought he was a better footballer than some of the other CBs you have...granted I didn't watch too much so could be wrong.
