I've not got a dog in this argument, but if his intention all along was to play 4-3-3 once the transfer dealing was done, what was the point in making the change to 3-5-2 and make all of the other teams at the club learn it?Surely struggling along a bit for a couple of weeks where you don't have the best players (but everyone knows what they are doing) would have got you results against Burnley, Sunderland and Swansea?

Thats how I see your team and it is a good one to be fair, a few unknowns on how they will adapt or whether they are as good as they are meant to be but that is the same as any transfer.Mignolet? He really doesn't inspire me with confidence and when you have a weak link or two in the defence to start with then this is not good at all. So yes, I would definitely like to see someone else there even if it is to spur him on a little.
I was made up when he signed too.

I haven't seen a huge amount of him but he reminds me a bit of David James. If he doesn't get a second to think about it he reacts well, give him time to think (on a cross or 1-1 situation) and he outhinks himself?I was made up when he signed too.
As you say its amazing how a slightly nervous defence can impact the keeper though
Andy Hunter:
“The price of having a productive summer and getting deals done early is to feel like a spare part on deadline day but (and it is only a but at this stage) something may be stirring at Liverpool. Fabio Borini, who has resisted all efforts to move to Sunderland for £14m this summer, is in talks with QPR and could end up at Loftus Road providing Harry Redknapp doesn’t opt for Jermain Defoe instead.”

They have spent 50 odd million on 2 new signings for their defence though. And they've got a new central midfielder. So they've not just bought attackers. I'd have taken Di Maria over Laser and Falcao would improve every league winning team from last season.
Once they gel, they'll compete imo. I can't help but be envious of a team that is prepared to go out and risk buying big time after time. Meanwhile we're firmly stuck in the world of moneyball where we buy either emerging talent, clear bargains where an opportunity has arisen or take a gamble. If anything our approach to transfers is more handicapped than theirs. Admittedly their not buying players for a 352 but if they lined up as a 4132, 433 or 442 diamond like we do, they'd destroy teams.
Remember Raja they are a PLC and the thought of failure isn't just some upset fans its a catastrophe. Now can you answer my Maser query on the other thread pleaseOnce they gel, they'll compete imo. You can see that Utd are putting everything in to the window because they cannot afford on any level to be without Champions League football for too long.

If that's true, it's utterly disgusting.
I'm rapidly falling out of love with top level football.
Have no interest in internationals and the EPL is fked thanks to city and Chelsea and now united.
I quite agree. I like the game but not the st that surrounds it.I'm rapidly falling out of love with top level football.

I hope it will implode.
I won't hold my breath though.
