Borini on twitter:

Fabio said:
"Finally the madness is finished!"

"I protected the MAN and the player that I am today, taking all the responsibility of the situation and for people who didn't want it.

"And I'm VERY happy with myself to have taken such an important decision!"
Hmm.

Rogers has a decent record thus far with players not exactly doing what everyone else feels is right. Luis obviously, Sterling not so long ago looked to be heading a poor direction (apparently) . So a Borini with a point to prove may not be the worst thing. Playing in this team, which is much stronger might suit him. Glass half full here smile

I am just pissed off the £14M Borinin v £8.5M Remy switch didn't come off

Chelsea didn't have an issue with his health FFS

If we had got Remy, Balotteli would not have happened.

Exactly it's not like we borrowed some bloke with a dodgy knee who only scored 9 goals last season. beer

We could've pocketed £14M from Sunderland. A terrific price for him.

After his goals last season basically kept them up, he would've been a terrace hero there.

He's been been told he's 4th choice at best, for us.

So he's chosen to be 4th choice and sit on his arse rather than a cult hero, and done us out of the best deal we are ever going to get for him.

We will be lucky to get £7M for him next summer.

Why do we need 14m over having a 4th striker ?? surely it makes sense to keep him as an option and look to off load next year when Origi arrives - unless of course we were going to Loan someone for a year?

Because he's not worth £14M, it riles me we missed out on such a good deal.

I despise his laziness and lack of ambition.

Is it not ambition that he wants to stay wait for a chance then try prove himself at Liverpool ?

At 4th choice, no!

In all honesty, it isn't going to happen. Unless there is some injury jinx around the corner that knocks out the front two, he won't even get a place on the bench. Maybe he thinks he is young enough that he can just put his career into cruise control and still expect a huge pay check with his next move. Ask Bendtner how that worked out for him this summer. Barge pole is something that springs to mind.

He is atm yes, but what is to say he does not get above Lambert ?

Sturridge or Balotelli could quite easily get injured then he is 2nd - gets a chance to prove himself - comes in and scores so cant be dropped - if he believes he can do that then I am sorry but that is belief and ambition

this, if he gets brought off the bench something has gone badly wrong - he is not good enough quality for us - would rather get the £14M and use Sterling as #4 or bring someone through from the reserves.

I get the impression that he would rather use the Liverpool brand to get a move abroad than be stuck in an unglamorous location like Sunderland, or fighting to avoid relegation with QPR.

Of course 14m is great - but LFC having that money in the bank affects you how exactly - if st got bad an we lost sturridge and balotelli through injury we would need him - simple as that - we were not going to buy anyone else so why get rid until we have Origi here?

If it was all about the money for Borini then he could have easily come to an agreement with either Sunderland or QPR, got a bit of a wage increase AND get regular football. Google seems to suggest that hes' on 40-50k with us, I can't imagine that neither Sunderland or QPR were offering less than that! It seems he was adamant he was staying at Liverpool, regardless of financials.
