You had to say it didn't you! hehe

Have to say though, Everton are showing everyone how it's done!

Are you watching watching the game? Everton have been horrendous, bizarre how they're winning 3-0

Shocking penalty decision too.

Yea I watched it. I had just watched the Spurs game so maybe my perspective of 'good' had been skewed! hehe

In all seriousness, I thought they played better than we did against Ludo!

How has he been under estimated? He's average. I've seen players give interviews many a time talking the club up before leaving. The only reason he'd have not gone to AC Milan is because either they weren't in for him or that they offered peanuts.

I'm hoping Borini starts on Tuesday night. His level.
Henderson - considered average, now look.
Carragher - considered past his best then fought back into the first team and was our best defender for the last 6 months of his career.
Flanagan - didn't want him anywhere near the first team then he played a major part in turning us into a top four team again.

Why not give Borini the benefit of the doubt until he's had a run in the team to get settled, rather than be quick to judge?
It's only Raja's opinion, Why does his esteemed & highly regarded opinion vex you fellow's on here so much ? He was spot on about most of those useless dumplings Kenny signed was he not ?
I think it's the regularity & vitriol with which it delivered gets somewhat tiresome. Yes we would all like a four striker superstar line up, but it just isn't going to happen, so back into reality it would be nice to see a bit of support for players that want to stay & improve & actually show some desire to get into the team.
There's not been ant vitriol in my posts at all. I've maintained that Borini is average and I disagree that he turned down a move to Sunderland because he wanted to stay here. Every time I've posted this, it has been in response to another poster that is trying to claim something else.

As for the 3 players Jammy wants to bring up, why not bring up the half a dozen others that I am right on. Regardless of the players mentioned only Henderson is something that I will not dispute. Clearly Dalglish nearly destroyed his career imo. Carra was spent in his last season and Flanagan is a decent back up, nothing more.

Nor have I ever asked for 4 superstar strikers. All of this nonsense to avoid my observation of Borini. Come on he had a full season at Sunderland. Is anyone really going to claim he's anything other than average?

Correct me if I'm wrong (and happy to apologise if so) but I dont think anyone has ever claimed he is more than average. We've stated he's ok for a 4th choice, to give him a try and some support and yes, I think he did wish to stay, more so on the basis he turned down moves to 2 other clubs and its a simpler case to understand that your thoughts which literally have no basis of truth other than whats in your own head and a presumption.

The issue is RT that after a few years on here you're like a broken record of negativity and criticism and for once a little enthusiasm and positivity wouldnt go amiss.

I cant recall more than 10 positive statements about the owners, the manager, any player or the tactics in the years you've been on here.

Absolute bks. The problem you seem to have, like others before you, is that a valid observation is jumped on because it doesn't fit with your point of view so you turn up with this nonsense.

You seem to have a mental blockage in understanding something, it is not just my perspective. Because Borini turned down a move to Sunderland doesn't mean he wanted to stay, it could just as easily mean that he was/is waiting for a team to come in for him that he wants to play for. You don't know the truth any more than I do so your point is no more valid than mine. Yet here we are post after post not debating what Borini's position might be but rather having pot shots at me for maintaining my point of you.

Doesn't matter. Our attack needs to be more potent than the other teams because our defence is still crap.

Also, the other teams number 1, 2 and 3 strikers are arguably of a much higher level than ours. You've rightly identified City. Utd have 3 match winning strikers in RvP, Shrek and Falcao. Arsenal have Walcott, Sanchez and Giroud. Wellbeck is just as much an unknown as Balotelli imo by the way. Chelsea have Costa, Remy and Schurrle.

We have Sturridge and our season is dependant on Balotelli delivering and the defence being transformed. The other 2 won't be fighting for a starting place. The other teams have strikers that are all fighting for a starting place on merit, not just to fill in on Carling Cup games, cover for injuries or make sub appearances.

Oh and just for pommygraite, I think Moreno is an excellent signing as is Lovren. My issue with the back 4 is our keeper. Hopefully (usually a positive word) we'll bring in Valdes and give Mignolet some genuine competition.

I think it'll depend on the opposition, but it does seem like BR is currently more willing to chuck Borini on than Lambert.

Which given Lambert scored 15 and 13 in his first two seasons in the Prem (mostly from the bench in the second season) seems odd. He should be playing much more regularly for you IMO.

True, I agree our attack needs to be on top form if our defence is going to be as rubbish as it was last year. Unfortunately at the moment it seems that we've lost a lot up front and only gained marginally at the back. I do think though that our defence isn't any worse than Arsenals, and only marginally worse than Utds. In fact I think our defence is better than Utds but they're protected better by their midfield.

The problem is, Borini moving on wasn't going to mean a player of the calibre that could compete for a starting position would come in. Either Borini stayed or he went - if he wants to stay and fight for his place then fair enough. He might just do a Henderson!

Real shame we didn't get Remy! But then if we're wishing for things to happen or not happen I'd prefer that Suarez stayed for one more season! laugh But then that kind of thinking is nonsensical.

It will be to do with mobility and fitting into the team... I feel Lambert was brought in for those teams like Stoke etc or to offer us plan B - Plan A will always be priority

I think Lambert will be played to rest Sturridge and Balotelli.
Can see him against Middlesborough.
But sadly with him playing every game for Southampton but he must have knew that.

Yep he will start with Lambert and Borini
He knew he was going to be a bench man but the pull of playing for your boyhood team even if only a handful of times was to much for him

So how does this square with you buying Balotelli? He's never been mobile, and rarely, if ever, sacrifices himself for the team.
