You lot came close last year, playing 20 odd games less than your rivals. It's not easy competing on more than one front, as you are finding out.

I predicted 7th place finish for you lot this season, and I'm not ready to revise it downwards quite yet.
We await with baited breath for your next evaluation.

Outsmarted by Sam Allardice. Oh, and most of the gunners team are barely getting to know each other too, but outplayed you.

Wow. Guess there's always the long ball.

Bloody lucky to get three points in Europe this week too, against a team I hadn't heard of before.

Crisis. You'll probably still beat Everton in a few days time, but it might well be the highlight of your season.

A good result guys, well done. That's the same result we took from the Boleyn. Same numbers anyway.

Yours,

Saints fan (club you bought your current team from)

Very poor performance

It's is worth point out we are missing some injured players but the midfield is a total mess.

Gone is the slick passing that takes teams apart, in is long balls and crosses to Mario

Defence is a complete mess, Gerrard isn't mobile enough, not is Lucas, and they simply got by past time and again
The centre backs mark thin air not players as well, I like BR but defence coaching doesn't seem to be his strong point

Mignolet is a disaster in goal, he doesn't fill anyone with confidence, and doesn't command the area, his positioning sense is also awful

Many of these faults were there last year, just the attack was on fire and covered them up, now that is stuttering we look a poor side at the moment

What is his strong point? Come on, this man rests Sterling in case of burning him out but continues to play Gerrard for every minute of every game. And even though he got burned pretty much every time he plays it, he still starts with Gerrard and Lucas in midfield. Does he have the bottle to drop Gerrard? Doesn't seem so does it.

I have no doubt that Fat Sam would have finished top 4 last season with Suarez in his team.

Lineker has just tweeted that MOTD is on earlier than normal tonight. 10:20. I know you guys are normally really keen to watch so thought I'd pass the message on.

Big Sam never had a team play like us last year, BR will get it right again just at the moment he short of key players and doesn't know his 1st 11

Right now Gerrard is playing on reputation. He has had a bad few games. We need a proper CDM who can protect that back 4.
The defence isn't going to improve overnight though and we don't have Suarez to score 30 goals this season.
If we don't score 100 goals this season and concede like we are we are going to be in big, big trouble.

Right, my username indicates my heritage, yes, I now live in Colchester, not exactly a suburb of Liverpool but hey ho, sh*t happens.

Here is the problem - Liverpool sold Suarez for £75m or something similar. The main man, the goal scorer - the cherry on the cake. They (Brenda) then spent multiple millions of pounds on players to complete the team.

bks. Look at Diego Costa. Look at Ramadel Falcao. You cannot replace the cherry on the cake with more pieces of cake.

Sell big name striker - buy a big name striker - FFS Brenda show some f*cking logic!!!!!!

Just watching MOTD and didn't think there was anything in the Adrian Borini challenge. Yes his foot was al little at first, but he was protecting himself and actually pulls it away when the challenge comes in.

Keown and Lennon saying its a red and he is trying to stick one on Borini. Are they mental?

I can see the benefit of not playing that increasingly useless keeper. But I still can't work out that formation. How you going to put Sterling in his most lethal position, the sort of position you'd play him when you're 2 nil down. That's right, wing back.

Agree, thought there was very little in that and Borini was play acting

Seemed to be very little in it. Maybe a graze with Adrians studs. He was provably trying to take advantage of the opportunity that had presented itself what with Adrian already being on a yellow.

You make it sound so easy, why didn't BR think of that? Oh he did but we couldn't find one that wanted to come

Although Remy still annoys me and probably will do all season

Yeah, I'd be short of a few key players after spending £116,500,000.

The one season bubble has burst. Back down to where Liverpool belong; mid table.

Would have loved Remy at us. Were we counting on Borini leaving though to then seal the deal with Remy? Or were we just really cautious with the possible heart condition? We will probably never know the details with that situation so it's probably best to forget about it and not let it haunt us every time Remy scores.
