He needs to come out and say that's not good enough but he won't/cant.

we have no excuses tonight, that simply wasn't good enough. But I stand by the players need to take the blame.

Sometimes it is hard being a fan. All the expectation and we seem totally disorganised.

That team tonight are an absolute shambles and should be ashamed of their performance.

Balotelli don't even get me started, he is lazy, obnoxious and doesn't look like he wants to win a game of football. At least when Borini is on the pitch he chases everything down and looks like he wants to pull on a liverpool shirt.

Lazar Markovic needs time but he looked awful tonight, not sure if he strung a correct pass all night. Again here I would question why Lallana, who had arguably the best game of the season against Everton on Saturday hasn't started, and bring on Markovic as an impact sub with pace to take teams apart.

Sterling had a very 'off' evening as well, if he could finish he would undoubtedly score 10 more a season. Potentially put this down to inexperience.

Gerrard - To me is a wasted player on the pitch - Again I can't understand why he sits in the middle of the back four, I would like to think he is on the field because of his ability, but firmly believe he is in their on Merit at the moment.

The goal that cost us, again from a set piece. Rodgers has to be questioned for that. What is he doing in training and why do we keep conceding. You could potentially say it was unlucky from Skrtel but why aren't we picking up the opposition No.9 for the second ball.

Some would say unlucky, personally I would say lacking passion and flair. Embarrassing.
Spot on. And generally sums up the whole season so far. I really don't see where this team is heading apart from mid-table medocrity. Sad really.

I agree with all of that stoneb09.

Clearly we need help tactically when defending/without the ball. Countless times our players were in no mans land, just let the ball pass around them. Nor do we have the pressing that we had of last season.

Another problem is that we just don't have a leader on the pitch at the moment. Henderson could be that person but he's in Gerrards shadow. Gerrard is lacking effort. Balo just isn't getting going - I don't think I've ever seen a Liverpool player walk around the pitch so much.

The whole team was lacking confidence tonight, individually and together.

Not a chance, hopefully Sturridge will be back. If not I'd rather have borini on the pitch.

Balotelli - one assit is 54 games in Man City's premier winning season .... And that might just have been accidental.

Seriously guys, what did you expect?

I think we should start with Borini and Lambert with Sterling in the hole behind, and I'd go with Henders, 'nana and Coutinho as the midfield three.

Balo has generally been trying to get more free kicks than goals with us. He was moving around a bit more than I expected earlier on, but that's not saying too much.

I actually thought they played quite well against us. They were pressing quickly when we had the ball. However last season that would have been perfect for us - we'd have played quick balls through the gaps and got a lot of goals. This season there is absolutely no movement off the ball by players and so when we get pressed we end up losing possession. Poor game and deserved result for them. Stirling could have got a couple if he'd taken the shot earlier. As it was he seemed to want to dribble it into the net.

Woeful stuff, just dreadful. As an aside I actually thought that Mario was the only one wh seemed even half interested/capable of making something happen.

Nope not at all. I agree he wasn't brilliant by any stretch, but let's be honest supply was absolutely non exist. A striker needs some supply at least. Even a little bit.
