Hodgson "I don’t think there is a lot of medical evidence to support the two-day recovery so if you want to, you might want to research that one....
Verheijen countered: "Another shocking example of why English managers are becoming extinct is England national team manager Roy Hodgson.
"According to Hodgson, there is no evidence that certain players [Sterling/Sturridge] need longer recovery time compared to other players.
"Firstly, 19-year old players do not have a fully matured body yet. So for them the game demands are higher & will develop much more fatigue.
"Secondly, Sterling is not only a young but also an explosive player. They have many fast muscle fibres compared to less explosive players. "Fast muscle fibres recover slower compared to slow muscle fibres because less blood & oxygen is running through these fast muscle fibres. "This is why explosive players like Sterling need longer recovery time after a game to get rid of fatigue compared to less explosive player. "If explosive players do not get extra recovery time & are treated in the same way as other players, they accumulate fatigue in their body.
"Thirdly accumulation of fatigue due to insufficient recovery makes the nervous system slower. The signal from brain to muscles travel slower "If the signal from the brain arrives later in the muscles this means the brain has less control over body during explosive football actions."So there's much evidence that insufficient recovery, accumulation of fatigue & slower nervous system are dramatically increasing injury risk.
"England manager Roy Hodgson once again made himself look extremely stupid. He is the perfect example of a typical uneducated English coach. [It] must be frustrating for educated managers like Brendan Rodgers who travelled the world."

Can't see it ever going down in price by a considerable amount. You can see on Twitter alone that people can sell face value tickets in seconds.
People will pay the prices and it will be only be a few 100 that will campaign for the prices to drop.
Only way to get them to lower the prices is to stop going the game but people aren't going to do that are they? Even then there would be a person waiting behind you to take the ticket out of your hand, the season ticket waiting list is more evidence of that.

What amazed me was the contrast in costs with clubs like Bayern and Barca. Our match day ticket is nearly half the cost of a Barca season ticket!!
Welcome to sky moneyball. I suppose you could blame Sky for marketing football properly and creating demand but that would be a bit silly.
