I think by Xmas we will know without question if Bren has been a lucky manager rather than an astute one, I have always thought he was lucky but obviously with a degree of skill however that skill level has been exceeded by the problems in replacing a world class striker with virtually no striker.
Fwiw I would immediately try Fabio and admit the Balo experiment has failed or try them together and this game is the perfect one to try them
Average Grant was a kick away from winning the Champions League. Yet we all knew his nearly achievement had very little to do with him. Same with our manager really. He has no idea how to set up defensively, we're all in agreement of this. Now without the magic of Suarez it's clear that he has no idea of how to set up a team that can create chances and score goals. Fwiw I would immediately try Fabio and admit the Balo experiment has failed or try them together and this game is the perfect one to try them

Steve Clarke please come back.
So you agree that BR isn't defensively up to it.GALLARDOGUY said:
We need more cohesion but they are not bad players.
And whose job other than the manager's is it to do that? 3 seasons in and the bottom of the league teams are still looking like they'll score every time they attack. Nothing new is it? When does the club act and force him to take some help? Either that or they'll find themselves having to bring in a manager that can do all aspects of his job.

Utd showed the money and went bought Falcao. We were penny pinching and looking for value and bought Balotelli and Lambert.
So much wrong with this post it's hard to know where to start.Falcao is on loan.
We couldn't afford his obscene wages.
Very doubtful he'd have come anyway.
We are being looked at by the financial fair play people as it is.
That's 4 reasons why we didn't go for him.

BR has been here 3 years. All the new players have been here 10 games.
We aren't playing well today, and you are all over the thread like a rash, if we were winning we wouldn't hear a peep out of you until after the final whistle and then probably only one post.
Now I'm going to watch the second half and actually support my team.

No we aren't I have my own opinion and I blame the players.
Fine, you blame half a dozen different defensive combinations for continuing to look defensively poor rather than the tactics and the coaching. or that Caan (brought in as a bright CDM) shouldnt be there ?
At what point does the manager tell a player to forget they can play football.
Tactics play alot in the game but class players should be able to deal with a QPR attack

The players need to step up. BR hasn't turned them to ste in the summer break.

You'll find that I regularly post during away games, I tend to support my team by getting to the home games, week in week out regardless of how well we are playing so don't post as often during home games. Your the person that repeatedly decides to pick up on my posts GG. BR has been here 3 years. All the new players have been here 10 games.

Enjoy the second half.
You really have to ask yourself, how a team like Southampton that were decimated during the transfer window, have managed to put together a squad that look like they have been playing for years and have players that seem to want to play for each other. Hunger, desire and a will to want to win. If at least Liverpool showed that, you could easily forgive them for a loss / draw.
Not exactly inspiring stuff is it? This season I'm finding very take it or leave it I have to say.
As for here, usual drivel being spouted by the usual suspects....keeping making the same point doesn't make it any more right or wrong, people will either agree or they won't. No need for another 4 pages of what has already been posted before and I told you so's.
