The Ronaldo problem, any suggestions on how to stop him ?
Find out where he's staying, spike his pre-match drinks or lock him in his room?

I'm sure Bodge will have some kind of plan to stop the worlds third best player .

They will probably go for a tanning session together after the match.

I remember Rafa taking out Messi by debuting an unknown Arbeloa. BR will probably use his shiny new watch to reflect a spotlight into Ronaldo's eyes.

We could always just get him to read some of the pages from this topic. The shear negativity from some people would bum him out so much he'd probably just stay in his hotel eating Ben & Jerry's and watching Bridget Jones's Diary.

So it looks like it is a battle for 3rd and 4th spot in the PL then?

A battle to be the least rubbish between:

LFC
ManU
Arsenal
Tottenham?
Everton?

So far so good then, I genuinely don't see anything from the other teams in that list to worry us.

I think there will be a huge gap between Chelsea, city and the rest and I would hope that we could get third.
Utd looked so good going forward last night but so crap at the back.
Everyone else is just so inconsistent, Arsenal scrapping a last minute draw at home
We have Chelsea (h), utd (a) and arsenal (h) before Christmas, every other game is winable and would hope to get at least 4 points against chelsea/utd/arsenal and be in third for christmas

Might not be a discussion for the Liverpool thread but I think its in part due to the old cliche "No easy games in the PL" being more true now than ever. Look at the teams we have all dropped points against, they have come and had a go and played some decent football.

Why not?

Can he hold the ball up yes? can he finish yes,
He obviously does not trust Lambert or Borini so do you think he would offer us less than Mario up front?
Sterling? Didn't he play up front for the U21's? I can't remember the last time Gerrard scored an outfield goal that wasn't from a dead ball situation. The simple matter of fact is that Gerrard doesn't have pace and as a front man, that is a vital ingredient.
Nice to see Carragher on the same wavelength as per my comment - no mention of Gerrard upfront though laugh

What other Strikers do Chelsea have, just Remy and Drogba?
I say 'just' - they are pretty good

Whilst I'd happily play Coutinho as a false 9 and not have a striker start tomorrow night, perhaps not unsurprisingly, I think this would be a clear example of BRs ineptitude in bringing in a fit for purpose striker. You can't have 3 of your 4 available strikers fit and not play 1.

You really do hate BR don't you? What could he do at LFC to change your mind?

I reckon even if he won the treble this year, you'd still find a way of praising everyone but him...

Quite. Isn't it Ayre's job to get the deal done?

I find it ridiculous that 3 of our 4 strikers are fit and there's a conversation about playing without a striker. Obviously questions will be asked if he decides not one of his three fit strikers are good enough to start.

I'm not sure where you see the hatred here. The same would apply to any manager in any team.

Well documented that BR has the final say.
