Fairly depressing all round.

The only positive thing is that it is better than v West Ham and QPR. But that was DIRE.

I can't help but think that the improvement in 2nd half is down to them taking foot off the gas.

Balotelli now needs to take a back seat and Lambert take over. He's had a chance and now it's time to sit on the bench a bit to think.
Yes Lambert leading the line. Wow.

I'd be giving Can and Lallana a good run, rotating Coutinho and Sterling.

I don't know why there is a downer on Lambert, he's a quality footballer with a real desire to play for us. Ballotelli does not deserve to wear the shirt IMHO he does not give a fk

Clearly its only still 0-3 since Real have taken it easy ahead of them playing Barcelona. Might well be worse in Spain in 2 weeks...

Not quite what I had in mind a few month ago, but I get your point and I didn't want to appear to be too negative about him.

If I shot Glen Jonson in the back of the head and claimed it was self defense, do you think I could get away with 10 months nick and 4 years sat on my arse watching telly?

It would be worth it.

Perhaps not. After seeing us tonight they probably can rest their entire first team and still get the win.

I was expecting a 0-4 or 1-4 so not overly surprised.

Can Mario star again the way he is playing right now? I think not.

Predictions for Hull, 2-2?

Very very poor performance. The only way we'll be qualifying from this group is if we bring Rafa back. Our manager is way out of his depth and the players he's had the first, middle or final say in have been mostly of his level, Mid table.

This man will never manage at this level ever again. I'd wager a years wages on it.

Balowho should never pull a Liverpool shirt on again, Stevie needs to be played in bursts and Johnson should retire.

That said though it could have been alot worse.

And god knows how but Ludogerets won, so it's not over yet.

I don't like picking out certain players, but seriously, Jonson and Balotelli aren't fit to wear our shirts.

It's not that they are ordinary*, you can forgive ordinary players who try their hearts out (Allen for example), but they just don't try FFS.

Does my fking head in.

Off to drink more wine.

  • ordinary = st

Balotelli shirt swapping!! rofl
And subbed off for Llama.
BR would go massively up in my estimations if he subbed him because of that.

Totally out-classed tonight as expected, wonderful Ronaldo goal, did better in 2nd half but RM were in cruise control. Shame that great Coutinho strike didn't go in just before half time and we may have had more belief and added some decency to the scoreline (or RM may have slipped into 5th gear and scored two more).

Positives - Llalana and..... nope that's all I got

When Balotelli has done nothing up front on his own all season then why are we still playing him up front on his own?

When you're 3 nil down at half time at home and you turn out in the second half without a striker. Bizarre.

We've played well once this season. The manager needs to take a good look at himself and the players he's brought in.

They just asked BR what he thought of Balotelli shirt swapping - he hadn't heard of it but doesn't like it and "will deal with it"...

Fair enough.

However, he als thinks we played reasonably well tonight, apart from that period where Real scored the goals...

I'd rather no striker than balotelli, he's a waste of a shirt

Nope just tactical. It was news to him in his post match interview, not pleased and said he'd be dealing with it.

Without getting too upset, the two main areas of our problems are fixable, the midfield is going to be a real gem once we get our defence sorted out, if I were BR I would be pestering Carra night & day to come back as defensive coach #1. Striker wise we have lost both of the leading scorers from last season, one permanently one on injury, who will hopefully return this side of Xmas!

Ballotelli was a gamble/desperation buy that has not paid off, it was a 4/1 shot but we all knew that, time to show some faith in Lambert & Borini until Jan, where we MUST get another world class striker in, regardless of cost.

The main problem is we have no movement up front, our game just does not work with static forwards, or playing a lone striker. Given we were playing the CL holders we were doing ok until Ronaldo's goal, then we just caved in. I think we have enough to work with once we get the basics sorted out & another striker in.

I'll take that bet. I think he will still be your manager for your next group game, thus managing again at this level.
