Could have been easier if we'd got Spurs though.

Unfortunately teams don't need to hit form to give us a game. I wonder what team he'll play this week? Thought Lucas played well, Borini ran a lot, Coutinho was excellent.

Counting should start at 10, he can run the game from there. hopefully Sterling will be fresh after a weeks rest.

Thought Borini did well midweek, set up the goal, and worked hard. Unlucky not to get a goal himself. I would pick him over Balo

I would prefer Lucas to anchor the midfield with Henderson and Allen pushing on. Gerrard for me is now a 30 min impact sub sadly.

Great piece on the TTT, ten problems we have, Gerrard quarterback position being found out, can't blame other teams but we need to evolve and quickly.

Was just thinking this and wanted people's thoughts who watch this team week in, week out...but is Balo just Andy Carroll in disguise? A bigish target man that has a decent touch and if you play to his strengths you'll do pretty well (the only thing is his strengths aren't in line with how the team has played at its best).

Thoughts?

The much-touted young Real Madrid talent Alvaro Morata signed for Juventus but is still finding his feet in Serie A, while Ciro Immobile, currently one of the forwards keeping Balotelli out of the Italy squad, moved from Torino to Borussia Dortmund but has not settled either. He was also replacing a key player in Robert Lewandowski, and Dortmund had known for a year that he would be going to Bayern Munich so had ample time to research his successor, proving that you can only do so much in projecting how players are going to fit in; it can take longer than you thought and shows that even £20m signings do not guarantee instant impact.
Nooooo, you mean to say other teams have transfers that don't work out 100% right from the moment they sign?! Now, st, others on this thread had me thinking it was just us! wink

Balo scored, there's no way he'll be dropped for the next game. As long as we start with two up front and Johnson is dropped I'll be happy.

On loan Liverpool striker Iago Aspas scored a hat trick for Seville last night.

How well Newcastle packed out their defence last night when City attacked, our only option should be two up top.

What will be interesting is to see if Rodgers chooses Gerrard for Saturdays game considering he will probably play Wednesday against Madrid and then Chelsea next Saturday.

Lucas to start against Newcastle with Henderson and Coutinho infront of him, then Sterling, then Balo and Borini up top?
