We didn't create in the final third Rodgers moans. I thought the penny had dropped when he played two strikers late against Hull and then against Swansea, suddenly we looked a much better side. Today he reverts to being a clever ar$e and falls flat against a very average Newcastle. A defeat against Chelsea next week will seal his fate as it will be virtually impossible to qualify for CL next season. That will not sit well with the owners.
The performances are down to Rodgers inept selection. At the moment he is doing a great impression of a manager out of his depth. Not enough coaching time. God give me strength...

Mulensteen got it right. He said Rodgers should have invested in his backroom staff. He hasn't. We were screaming out for a defensive coach last season. We desperately need one now. We need a striking coach; someone that can actually translate a misifirng midfield that has some scoring potential, into 8-10 league goals each a season. Ref link
Gerrard got it right. We should have got Fabregas and Costa but FSG have a different model. Shame, as I have always said we need to surround potential with world class. The potential then raise their game. Right now we just have a bunch of medicority running like bunch of headless chickens. Ref link
I have been saying exactly the same on here for a long time.

Sterling looked awfully tired. Fair play to BT Sports though they got some lovely close ups of Brendan's shiny new watch.
Do you think his watch goes tick tock? Edited by Black can man on Saturday 1st November 15:11
On borrowed time if he carries on like this. Problem is there is nothing to suggest he has it in him to change it. Sturridge isn't back till sometime in December. I'm not sure where any kind of spark might come from before then.

I know my team is truly woeful but your lot were just as bad today.
Raj , Sturridge won't fix this alone, I would almost go as far as to say we are seeing a player protest against Balo. You know when teams start winning after the manager is sacked its possible our lot are playing really really crap because they are fed up with Brens tactics.
If not this then what else explains the total lack of quality in the team

It must be pretty demoralising to go so close to winning the title and then see your best player leave and someone like Balotelli come in and be the antithesis of your previous best player. If not this then what else explains the total lack of quality in the team
There's definitely a confidence issue running all the way through the team.

Happy to see him stick with Balo, just wish Borini was upfront with him. 3-0 win today. Goals for Balo, Borini and a Stevie G spotter.

Totally agree with you. Just that the only hope we seem to have is Sturridge. The players imo have seemed to stop playing for the manager. It's as if he's pissed too many of them off and the signing of Balotelli to Swan around the pitch and play regardless is the last straw. If not this then what else explains the total lack of quality in the team
Rafa would have this set of players competing in the Champions League. BR will do well to get us in the Europa League next season.
If we can't raise our game for Madrid away and Chelsea at home it's all over for him imo.

Rafa's transfer record was even worse. He wouldn't have signed Lallana for £25m - he would have signed three other midfields (probably the next Zidane) for £8m a piece.
Then he would have frustrated the hell out of everyone by winning midweek 3-0, but still rotating half the squad for todays game.
I see Hindsight Herbert is firmly home to roost!

I don't think fabregas and costa would have come to us, whatever wage we offered. Like Sanchez, the lure of London is too much.
Utd paid ridiculous wages and fees to get their big names
Fabregas and Costa are just used purely as examples. Those are the types of calibre of player we need to bring in. If we are willing to pay Suarez over £200k a week, I am sure there is money in the kitty to bring in two world class players. Then surround those with the potential that Rodgers likes to develop. We would then be able to compete and at least have a chance of getting top 4. Utd paid ridiculous wages and fees to get their big names
I have said it before and I will say it again. You cannot build a Top 4 team by simply buying potential. And certainly not when you buy sh!te potential.
