I checked out the odds for Brazil to fail to get out of their group. Thought I might have a go at 50/1 or something. 9/1!!!! Seems I'm not the only one who thinks they've been hyped to buggery.

Didn't they thrash Spain 5-0 or something in the confederations cup ?

Cant see past Argentina, they can even afford to leave Tevez at home.

Sooo...Wayne has said he is dissapointed in his previous WC efforts and really wants to shine eh?

well good for you wayne. A- for stating the chuffing obvious.

despite being a united fan, I cannot help but feel that statements like that feel like empty gestures.

if he fails to perform this time - will he REALLY be that bothered.

I'm not a Rooney hater, far from it but it does smack of incincerity. I'm sure he means it to himself but i'm not sure everyone believes him....

9/1 is about right in my eyes. I don't think the odds for Spain to fail to get out of their group will be much higher.

Brazil to win it for me.

Biggest flop of the tournament for me is going to be Neymar.

I don't know.
Flop because of his price tag or because of his hype?
He was hyped before he moved to Barca and didn't do aswell as people expected so has he already flopped?
In the games that I have watched Brazil he has done really well so I look forward to seeing how he does in the World Cup smile

Because of his hype.

I think his hype has settled down now.
He will never be at the level of Messi or Ronaldo and I think Bale and Suarez are better players than Neymar is and will ever be.
He turned the league apart that he played in prior to La Liga and I think has found the level where he will just coast along at in La Liga.
Never an 87m euro player.

He most likely will, Joachin Löw hasn't named many centre forwards in the squad. No Kießling, no Gomez, but Volland and Podolski and he isn't even a centre forward, more a winger. That means Klose is likely to be a starter and Germany have a lot of creative players behind him to give him the chances.

True, all records have to come to an end, but still, Ronaldo is my all time favourite player.

All time? Why? It's a free world, but he wouldn't make my top 20.
