How do England move forward,

Personally I would like to see at least 4 English players under the age of 22 playing for every team in the Prem and playing for English clubs in the champions league,

This will give them much needed experience at top level,

That still leaves 7 places left for older English players and also world class overseas players.

If the foreign players are better, than I'd rather see them play, club over country any day of the week for me..

I thought Theo Walcott came out of this extremely well.

Cahill was solid, Sterling played well in patches, Shaw looked ok in last no pressure game, no one really stood out.

Should have played a midfield diamond shape IMHO,

Robbie Savage was easily the best English performer of the past few games.

Foreign players aren't better, it's just clubs will go for the 25 year old bigger stronger more experienced overseas player rather than the younger not as developed less experienced 18/20 year old Brit, so the youngster loses out and falls behind,

We are the only country at a level of 30% of home grown players playing in our top league, most other countries are at 50%+

If you take Liverpool as a example, who have been one of the better teams trying to bring young English talent through,

They still have wasted time and money on very average overseas players like,

Toure
Coates
Alberto
Assaidi
Aspas
Borini

The pampered muppets were flown in to Manchester first, then met at the bottom of the steps by chauffeurs to avoid the crowds that were waiting for their heroes. Then the plane hopped to Luton to drop the rest off.

Doesn't matter who manages over rated players whose egos have been puffed-up by playing week in, week out alongside top international players in their respective PL teams.
You really think results would have been so different if someone like van Gaal had managed the team for the last 2 years?
If so, you are incredibly naive.

If you don't believe managers can get better results than other managers, with the same set of players you are silly

I don't think those England players deserved to get out of that group & it has nothing to do with the manager tinkering with tactics or telling international players how the game should be played.
The Italy game is just about as good a game as that England team could ever hope to play, imo.
