The Official England Thread-The Team We All Support [Vol 2]
Discussion
How do England move forward,
Personally I would like to see at least 4 English players under the age of 22 playing for every team in the Prem and playing for English clubs in the champions league,
This will give them much needed experience at top level,
That still leaves 7 places left for older English players and also world class overseas players.

If the foreign players are better, than I'd rather see them play, club over country any day of the week for me.. Personally I would like to see at least 4 English players under the age of 22 playing for every team in the Prem and playing for English clubs in the champions league,

We are the only country at a level of 30% of home grown players playing in our top league, most other countries are at 50%+

They still have wasted time and money on very average overseas players like,
Toure
Coates
Alberto
Assaidi
Aspas
Borini

Doesn't matter who manages over rated players whose egos have been puffed-up by playing week in, week out alongside top international players in their respective PL teams. Here is a graph showing Roys 'improvement' whilst in charge of England

You really think results would have been so different if someone like van Gaal had managed the team for the last 2 years?
If so, you are incredibly naive.

I don't think those England players deserved to get out of that group & it has nothing to do with the manager tinkering with tactics or telling international players how the game should be played. The Italy game is just about as good a game as that England team could ever hope to play, imo.
