Hardly any Brits involved in the latest influx into the Prem, so can't see anything improving for England. What happened to Greg Dyke's new broom? He's had a couple of half-baked ideas that have both been quietly binned AFAIK.

Has Milner actually played in any of Man City's games as yet?

Indeed.

Beating one of the worst teams in Europe by a penalty. Bring on the Swiss for our continuing march to glory! rolleyes

Two years time and the FA will be giving the rights to England matches to Channel Five for a fiver and a bag of chips.

Channel 5 will rightly tell the FA to ps off as they've already got Shakhter Karagandy v Hajduk Split on Thursday night and the audience for that will be well into double figures.

Its more than just him. They need a full clean sweep out.

They need to do what the Germans did after Emile Heskey decimated them on home soil and completely redesign how they operate at the Youth and Development level.

Then, just then, might we win a trophy in 15-20 years.

From the BBC

Manager Hodgson said: "We'll find it hard to bring attendances back to very high levels because the opponents we're playing won't excite the public."

Bit harsh?

How many German 1st choice players in the top Bundesliga teams compared to how many English nationals with regular 45+ minutes of games in each of the PL teams?
Lucky if there are 2 or more English players per team on the field throughout 90 minutes in a PL fixture.
All the domestic youth coaching & development in the world isn't going to help if Premiership teams insist on stuffing their squads with £40m international susperstars.

Again sums up his attitude, me,me,me.
Or shows that he is the penalty taker for England. Thats kind of how it works, you dont just decide in the heat of the moment.

Might as well just appoint Rooney.

Well, I for one thought that the game was very exciting. Full of pace, good football and intelligent players showing off their skills.

But enough of last night's Germany - Argentina game.

Have you watched Dyer (and Routledge for that matter) much over the last few seasons? Without wearing rose-tinted glasses he has consistently been one of the best complete English wingers in the league.
