Makes perfect sense to me, the sooner the better & let's get some patriotism back into our national team,

What do we think of Woy's expletive laden rant?
Didn't hear any expletives, but he's entitled to fight back against attacks from the press. However, I think the 'it was a big night for him' and 'alot of pressure on his shoulders' defence of Rooney is wearing a bit thin. He's a highly paid proffesional footballer that's been playing for one of the top clubs in the English Premiership AND on the international stage for fking ages now. If he can't handle it now he never will.

But the bottom line is this: before the World Cup, there’s the euphoria, and we are getting 75,000 people to see us play Peru, who, with respect, were nowhere near as difficult an opponent as Norway. And now we have 40,000 to see us play against a much more difficult opponent. I can’t put that right because I can’t turn the clock back.
What I can do is analyse what I’ve seen [against Norway] and judge that through my eyes and not judge it because someone is going to tell me, ‘well, you only had two shots at goal’. Because for me, that is absolute fking bks, I’m sorry.

I think the penny is dropping with the meeja at last that despite the hype of the premiership, there is a dearth of talent that can play for England playing at the top level in this country.
Every transfer window sets the england team back another year imho - the more overseas players, the fewer englaish players get a look in.
yes I know it means that english players have to work harder to get better, but then you have to factor the number of overseas managers, the financial importance of the premier league to owners, and top level coaches into it etc and this post will procrastinate.
I think we have to accept that the young team that was put out the other night will now be the way of things for some years to come but along with that has to be the dumbing down of expectation and acceptance that we are a long way behind the top international teams.
how many of the team tonight would get in to the German national side? french? spanish?
Costa Rican ?
I jest but in all seriousness it would appear that National success is now a long way behind in priorities for our national game...

I don't subscribe to the players are crap theory. Name two of the Greek players who won Euro 2004.
The manager has far more influential in international football because the players don't play together week in week out and often will be playing a system they don't play in their clubs. How the manager pulls the team together is key. We'll be ste tonight is my prediction.
