Advertising boards - why in Italy are the advertising boards showing Pukka Pies, home insurance, Avon tyres..

Surely Italian TV are also showing this, and the advertising board are pointless to them? I could understand the boards in Wembley showing the UK specific ads...
The clever TV guys...Italy get Italian adverts, we get UK ones.

Really? How does that work?!

I thought Italian TV might film from the other side with Region specific ads on the side we can't see laugh

I thought it was a much improved second half to be honest.

I didn't think they still did the CGI ads. I just got the impression from the many empty seats that there wasn't a great deal of Italian domestic interest so the UK advertisers were able to outbid the Italian ones.

Have the entire team been coached to give the ball to the opposition after a maximum number of passes?

Possession was dreadful!

Watched live and listened to five live.

Danny mills is so full of crap.

Play the youngsters give them a chance...er no Danny that's what u20 and u21s are for. Thus by the time they get to senior level we should know what they can do.

Experiment up the pace friendlies are about performance not results...err well very good but what about the opposition Danny? If they're not bothered then ur stuffed.

Should u21s be sanctioned if they skip the summer tournament? Well hey let's put more pressure on the decision. I reckon if you qualify for the under 21s you should do anything to play in a major tourney with a good chance of success what an opportunity and then build from there.

1-1 tonight fair imho.

Agree and the first half was really poor but the subs had the desired effect in the second half and the team looked so much better for it.

Townsend`s goal was a cracker.

It was half and half, some English and some Italian adverts.

I only watched from 15 mins into the first half, during a period of play where the England players gave away possession with every header, even when under no pressure, yet without comment from the studio...perhaps it's the standard we aspire to today?

The Italians seemed to ooze class and pass with little or no effort, but accurately. Why is this beyond our 'bravehearts'?

The first goal was good (didn't see the equaliser until on the news) but Hart didn't seem to reach for the ball - in the slo-mo he is there following it but not inclined to reach out and actually stop it?

Still, plenty of time before we mop up the Euro's...

England still suffer from this inability to create angles for players to pass safely. The Italians, and most of the other major national teams, always have players moving to provide simple, safe passing options for anyone on the ball. England seem to fail miserably at this most basic of skills and, as a consequence, give the ball away too easily.

I was thinking exactly the same in the first half. The Italians easily passed the ball then straight away moved to create an angle to either receive a pass or create space by moving an opponent player. England look static and lacked serious movement.

You could see the difference when Carrick came on. Always looking to receive the ball, and can actually pass forward with accuracy.

I didn't see the game so it's interesting seeing comments.

Did you know england completed 530 passes compared to Italy completing 339.

No Ashley Young is a surprise. Thought he'd done more than enough this season to get picked.

He puts a full shift in. Brilliant down the left for Leicester City. He's earnt it, and will work a f*ck sight harder than some other regulars I could mention.

Rooney should never have been made captain. If he's fit, then he has to play. Otherwise, 'questions will be asked'.

His first touch today was woeful!

I'm sick to death of square pegs in round holes watching England. I can't believe we still do this. Jones at RB, Wilshere at DM. I shouldn't be listening to quotes after the game saying "I'm learning how to play the position"!

Pick a system, then pick the best players that play in those positions. It's so fking simple!!

I'd completely forgotten about this match, just flicking through the channels - five minutes was more than enough for me. A cure for insomnia has all been found people.
