1.) England hadn't won a 6 nations for 13 years, losing the crucial game a number of times in that period.

2.) Oz reached the WC final, losing to an AB team containing some of the greatest players to ever play the game.

3.) If you don't think the manager has been an influence on this then I'm not sure what else to say.
1.) And that's purely the coaches fault? Nothing to do with not having a good enough team or the other countries being stronger?

2.) What has that got to do with anything, seriously? Wales beat England at Twickenham, they've lost there twice since confused

3.) That's not what I said, I said "they are seriously deluded if they think that Eddie Jones has solely turned around the English Fortunes".

We'll see how the English Invincible's do in the 6N. Anyway, apologies for going off subject....
Well we kept hearing how the Northern Hemisphere game was rubbish and the 6N was piss easy as England won it and everyone else was rubbish. Ireland have beaten SA and should have won the second test. England have beaten Oz twice so maybe it wasn't that bad?

Teams often take on the attitude and demeanor of their coach. The margins at the elite level of sport are often pretty slim and small tweaks in how a manager/coach interacts and gets the best out of the team very often makes the difference.

Look at SAF. Winning was all that mattered. Coming second wasn't acceptable. Look at the squad he won the league with the year he retired.

Coaches/Managers do have a significant influence on how teams play. If you hire 'steady hands' type coaches don't expect to win things.
Please take this egg chasing argument elsewhere.

Roy has a 42.6% win rate as club manager. The average win rate of the top 6 manager's in last year's EPL is 50.2%.

Roy is very, very average. Why anyone employing him would expect after 900+ games, for him to deliver teams and performances that were in any way above average, has always been a mystery to me.
He has made mediocre teams (and I'm a Fulham lad) punch above their weight which I think is what's needed with the national team - although the weight of expectancy/entitlement must be unbearable.

Yes, and he's also made good teams (Liverpool) into mediocre teams. He's average and given enough time, he'll turn all his teams into average ones. Which may or not be an improvement, depending upon the starting point.

You really should read more of his posts, Seems a nice guy but so biased and rose tinted towards Man U it is unreal.. Pretty much all other players except Man U one's are all pub players apparently. hehe
smile Not at all.

It just happens that most of the bad England players are from Liverpool or at least have played for Liverpool (Henderson and Sterling). The only pub player is Vardy. The others are just average to poor PL players.

It aint my fault that Man U has provided our only decent midfielder aside from Dier.

In the last game he was no worse than Rooney or Ali when they came on.

Yeah, he was, by quite some distance. Rooney's had an excellent tournament so far and Henderson's been nowhere near the same class. Of all the changes Woy could have made for me the biggest mistake was dropping Rooney for Henderson.

Rooney was the worst player on the pitch when he came on against Slovakia.

Yes and some of his passes made Henderson look world class.

I know it's fun winding up ManU fans but that's an exaggeration. Most England players were off form and some absolute crap. Rooney was just average, not the worst, not the best just anonymous really. Bit like he was in the Prem last season wink

I'm not trying to wind anyone up. He was miles off the pace.

The vast gulf between what we expected from him (as captain as well remember) and what we saw from him, made him the biggest disappointment on the pitch IMO.

Yeah, possibly. I guess we expected less of Henderson, Wilshere, Sturridge etc. so can see what you're saying. Personally I thought Bertrand was the worst.

Why "balls"?

We'll be favourites with the bookies to win. All things being equal I'd expect us to overcome them.

The last 2 times they knocked us out.
They have one of the best players in the world who just found his scoring touch again and who loves playing against england.
