I'm sure it will gently disappear over time in line with accepted accounting principles, but I guess to them it will be not too dissimilar to most of us losing some copper down the proverbial back of the sofa in all reality. The equivalent of sticking a couple of quid on the Euro millions and not winning anything or anything meaningful.

The first knockout games have been a bit boring but some of the group games were brilliant. Let's hope they pick up.

It's something to watch until the season starts again.

I understand weak teams trying to scrap a win on penalties. I don't understand evenly matched teams both taking no risks. Neither Portugal nor Croatia tried to win that match.

Hazard has mugged off Chelsea all year going on that performance :-/

I predict a nervy and goalless first 80 minutes with Rahim Sterling proving he can run up to the 18yd box really, really fast and then completely run out of ideas time after time and Joe Hart panicking every time he sees the ball. We'll then have a final 10 minutes where we appear to give Iceland as many chances as they want to score the goal that takes us home in the 88th minute. This will be followed by much moaning about how hard it is to play against teams that site back and try to hit you in the break.

RH will state how happy he was with our performance and we shouldn't be down that were out of Europe because we dominate all 4 games and the only thing we weren't able to do was put the ball away and how, other than missing all the chances we created again, we are a world class team.

I much prefer rugby!
