Just listened to the press conference on Talk Sport.
I thought he was a st coach but I did have some respect for the man - he's just destroyed that. Not sure if it's some delayed shock but fking disgraceful reaction.
He didn't have anything to say at all, very poor. Why pick Sterling? What were the second half tactics, if any? What shape were the team supposed to be taking? Why were the players so static?I thought he was a st coach but I did have some respect for the man - he's just destroyed that. Not sure if it's some delayed shock but fking disgraceful reaction.
I remember some football pundit said 'years', probably a couple of decades ago when asked to compare the Scottish national team and the English national team.
He commented that Scotland were a good team but crap individually, whereas England are good individually but crap as a team.
Think this view has endured since, especially regarding the English team!

Finished now anyway but reading the transcripts I get the feeling that Roy's conscience is clear.
lWell it bloody shouldn't be.
I've listen to bits and pieces of the news conferenceL I have to say i found his attitude totally digraceful. He clearly doesn't give a fk about anyone other than himself. He thought he could side step being called to account by resigning immediately after the game.
The performance of Hodgson, his backroad staff and the players has been a disgrace. Hodgson has been paid £3.5m per year and he thought having failed and humiliated us he could just escape unquestioned by the side door!
Frankly, I hope the media crucify him for weeks and months ahead, he deserves it.

Should we be looking further down the league table? - you don't have to be a Premier League winning manager to be an international manager - and it could be said that managing England is more akin to the Championship and Division 1, where passion, drive and teamwork is more important than talent.
A nice idea. Blackpuddin said:

A nice idea. Time for a salary cap in the squad selection criteria
Step forward S Dyche, N Pearson, T Pulis, M McCarthy, S Allardyce

I'm all for this, the fewer tempramental "superstars" we have the better. We might be deprived of a few stepovers and drag-backs to entertain us for a whole 2 minutes out of 90 but I'm sure the majority of English fans would get behind them for the full 90. If its not sophisticated enough to unpick the likes of Spain and Italy in a Final but it has a higher chance of getting to Semi's with a 30% chance of doing a Denmark or Greece, I'd be quite happy with that.
