All of them because the manager will just be a box ticker and yes man like Hodge Podge.
Hodge got them playing from the back though didn't he. He stopped the long ball BS.

Imo,,, he lost his job in the last 60 mins against Iceland, he froze through the enormous pressure from the shambolic second Icelandic goal. He didn't change things on the pitch when it was desperately needed , he didn't use the strength of the squad that was sitting there on the bench. Why did he not put on Lallana, such a creative player ( which he proved in so many games ) that links up with strikers for example. You could still see the horror on his face in the press conference, he was in shock and totally gutted. I have to admit, I did feel sorry for him, its a thankless job.

Imo, he has built a base of good young talent for someone else to now mature and manage.

But we know that isn't going to happen, it's going to be the same old same every tournament. In qualifying they'll score loadsa goals and look world class against nobody teams, but when it comes to the crunch they'll crumble.

He's never won a thing in his entire career. Why anyone ever thought that would change is beyond me. Still , look on the bright side, they were only paying him half as much as Sven & Capello got.

I too feel sorry for Roy Hodgson. A fine and humble man yet sophisticated and with a great track record.
Wish you well, sir.

I don't feel sorry for Roy at all, not one bit. He is a liar and a coward.

He lied by saying he wouldn't pick players for the squad on reputation but pick on form. So that's why the two best English CM's in the country were sat at home twiddling their thumbs; the most in form English winger, a real game changer was left behind and an experienced prolific striker was ignored completely. Noble, Drinkwater, Townsend and Defoe all should have gone; Wilshere, Henderson, Barkley and Sterling should have been on the beach.

And he's a coward. He can't get past Iceland, he sneaked past Wales with a stoppage time winner and had uninspiring draws v Russia and Slovakia. He had the top two scorers in the BPL but couldn't fit them together, his top scorer taking corners and he messed up his tactics, his substitutions and we were home early doors. Yet when it came to explaining his ludicrous decisions, he scuttled off after reading a long ago written resignation note without so much as a farewell then when finally called to account, he spluttered "I don't know why I'm here!".

Liar, coward and thank God he's history.

And the players are not to blame??. Did Roy have Hart working via gaming stick on the bench when he messed up that Icelandic second goal, no!. Should grown pro footballers know how to defend a long throw in, yes!. All of them are at fault, buddy.

England performance against Iceland is and will end up the worst at Euro16. England at Euro16 is the only team to beat Wales so far.. Now that sums up England in a nut shell, too inconsistent.

England could have Brian Epstein, Brian Clough and Brian Blessed as part of the management ticket and it wouldn't be enough. The sooner everyone stops reading/buying that guttural tabloid press the better. They have a far bigger role in the failures than anyone would care to admit.

Succinctly put - and 100% ACCURATE!

How he thought he could just resign from his job as manager of the NATIONAL football team, without fronting up is nothing short of a disgrace and reflects badly on him as a person. Incredibly arrogant, you could see him seething in the press conference - good bloody job - if anything the words from Mart above should have been read out to the tt.

When it mattered we were atrocious under Woy. He was a terrible manager and I was furious watching his press conference with him saying 'I don't know why I am here' and speaking as though he was a hero for turning up. Take what's coming for our terrible performance. Stop saying the players gave it their all and that you're really proud, because that's bullst and if he even thinks that's true and was anywhere near proud of them then he's an even worse manager than I initially thought.

Good riddance and I really hope the F.A make a good decision this time. France tore Iceland a new one last night and could have had 8 had they not switched off in the second half. It highlighted how crap we were that we didn't even test that terrible part time keeper.

I think IQ's must have dropped significantly since England went out of the Euros. I saw George Best many many times and to put Gazza into his bracket is absurd.

Ah yes. I do my best to ignore smartypants posts, hence the oversight on my part. Apologies.

No, he's a an average manager with an average track record. 43% win rate as a manager. Never won anything outside of Sweden or Denmark.

Not his fault though, never should have been given the England job, as anyone who even took a cursory look at his record or knew anything about football would have known.

And therein lies the problem.
