Footballers Wages information.

In today's Guardian there's an article giving a lot of detail about the salaries of various Man U players:

Articles in the sports pages discussing players wages are fairly common. Where do the papers get this information? Is it really in the public domain or a journalists just making it up? From the club accounts you might be able to get the total wage bill but the wages for individual players??

I'm not having a go at the money players earn more questioning the accuracy of figures published in the media.

I suspect those figures might well be leaked by Utd themselves to explain why they are unable to shift players.....let's not forget that Woodward has come in for quite a lot of stick and it wasn't him that put these players on these big salaries. The salaries seemed to get leaked fairly regularly....one of the blogs recently had an article about Arsenal's wage bill with every player and member of the backroom staff's salary to the nearest thousand pounds.

Those numbers don't look right to me. I'm sure Nani is not on 115k a week. There was a story a couple of seasons ago about him demanding a pay increase to over 100k put I'm sure he signed a new deal with no increase.

I think some of the leaks come from the agents as well "look at the deal I got my guy" sort of thing...helps sign more players meaning more fees/commission for them.
