Cristiano Ronaldo
Discussion
Put Messi and Ronaldo in an average team and I can guarantee that Ronaldo will drag the team up to be better where as Messi wouldn’t. Impossible to compare across generations but I’d certainly say Ronaldo is a more complete and therefore better player than Messi.
Would have loved to have seen Messi in the Prem but he’s taken the easy ride and gone to the farmers league where he’s guaranteed more trophies. Ronaldo has come back to do it the hard way.

Perhaps one reason why he didn't come to the Premier League is because he didn't want to suffer such paltry wages of around £300k per week Would have loved to have seen Messi in the Prem but he’s taken the easy ride and gone to the farmers league where he’s guaranteed more trophies. Ronaldo has come back to do it the hard way.

I agree, when he went off injured for Portugal, he was on the touch line spurring them on, a lot more than the manager. Read the other week, Ramos PSG medical it was noticed that he has the physique/energy levels of a 25 year old, wouldn't imagine Ronaldo is that far away himself either.
Read a few days ago as well that if a player was to score 50 goals over 15 seasons he still would be trailing Ronaldo.
Ive been lucky enough to see them both play a number of times both great players undoubtedly, in terms of the best though its messi without a shadow of a doubt he just has something that cant be coached, cant be trained he's a freak and has talent Ronaldo could only dream of.
Where Ronaldo does have one over messi is balls and self confidence which i admire greatly. To come back to the Prem at this time in his life shows that, personally im not convinced it'll a massive success but the fact hes man enough to take on the challenge where Messi has just copped out by going to a no mark club in a no mark league says a lot about the character of both.

I've never seen any of them play (I did see Bobby Charlton play but that's another story). Is Messi more of "freak" than Maradona? Maradona, like many others who cheat at the highest level, slips out simply because of that.
Maradona began his fall from football for me idol with his Hand of God and, subsequent cocaine fuelled antics confirmed it!Anyway ,as far as CR is concerned, as a PL neutral I will just enjoy watching him for a couple of seasons as he is pure entertainment on the pitch!

For a bloke who started out as a winger he's one hell of a header of the ball.Up there with the best strikers of all time in that department alone
Is this the best headed goal of all time? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AunImole9HI
Different sport but came across this the other day.
Now if Ronaldo could double jump imagine!

Agree Messi is the better player. Ronaldo better at dead balls, heading and is more of a force of nature personality-wise, as you're implying. Personally I think Ronaldo is well past it and it won't make much difference to Man U one way or another, though is a great factor making this season more interesting. Can't see Man U being close to the title tbh.

It could honestly be the difference between ManU coming 4th, or winning the league. Incredible signing for them, and that's coming from a Liverpool fan :/
Very very much doubt this tbh. When he was at his best I think that - at a stretch - might have been the case, but he is a long way off the player he was 5 years ago. In the Euros he largely strolled around. Still deadly in front of goal yes, but not the lighting fast player who terrorised defences of old.

He’s given others in the Premier league a few games to get a head start, like a handicap race in a sense.
It’s like making Usain Bolt run 110m. We all know he will win but it makes the finish more exciting,
I’m backing Cristiano to finish the season with the Golden Boot.
I'll happily bet against you on that. Though I do think he'll get 20+It’s like making Usain Bolt run 110m. We all know he will win but it makes the finish more exciting,

In my opinion he would’ve been worse.
A genius is a genius, to try and change him would be to jeopardise losing what made him.
He smoke, he drank, he womanised, he took drugs.
Take that away and I’d offer that he would not have been as good because you’d be attempting to change his very DNA.
Just my opinion.

Just to prove your point, I don't smoke, I don't drink, I don't womanise or take drugs and I'm crap at football A genius is a genius, to try and change him would be to jeopardise losing what made him.
