ttish thing to do. There's a world of difference between making generalisations about footballers as a group to making generalisations about Pakistanis. It gives the impression that I'm a racist, which I'm not. I think most footballers are poor role models, regardless of their colour or creed.

The point is, you don't know "most footballers", you know the headline grabbing w
kers that can't control themselves. I know three guys personally that I would hold up as outstanding role models for my kids (I will go into more detail if you like, if you'd be willing to put your prejudice on one side for a moment), consequently my world view of footballers is different to yours. otolith said:

Very good post, very much agree with that.For some reason footballers are fair game to slag off, I just think it's a crap attitude to have.
Twigs original post does make a very valid point however, footballers should not be expected to behave like role models, they're just really F'ing good at football is all.

For quite a while I presumed he had typed those words.
But now you have accepted you were out of order there isn't really a need to apologise.
