So I play 5-a-side in a site league with work and there is this one bloke that shouts and gets angry. Today he constantly shouted at our keeper for not kicking the ball to him, he shouted at the defence and at the ref and at me. He shouted at me ‘where are you supposed to be’. I just come on so I actually had no idea smile so I said ‘up front’ in fact I was running everywhere., so he shout’s ‘well fking get there then’.

It’s just crap playing when there’s an angry man shouting at you.

How do you deal with that crap?

Nothing you can do. Team sports just seem to attract those people. Do something else.

Indeed. If he's got breath to be constantly shouting then the isn't working hard enough. This does my head in playing 5 a side.

I play 5-a-side and 11-a-side and there's one of these on every team worldwide I think. hehe

I find that most of them are the loudest because it takes focus off of them being average.

I usually just ignore them. I've shouted back twice and neither time ended very well.

We used to have that at 5 a side shouty man also thinks he's the most talented (probably a universal thing) they way we did it was by constantly shouting from the sideline to sub eventually when he came off we'd ignore his requests to come back on the pitch, he eventually started to get the hint.

Ignore him. I would. And keep enjoying playing. There's a player in our team, he gets annoyed every so often when something goes wrong (bad shot, bad run, bad pass - usually all by me ha), but I just let him do it, it's only because he's passionate about the team, and our best player, so we want him to stay in the team too. I'm lucky our team is quite decent I guess. Enjoy the games, and don't listen to the guy. He'll be gone soon enough.

We play one evening a week on a 6 a side pitch. It's sort of an evolving thing where people just seem to arrive and play invite someone else along and then eventually drift away for whatever reason. It's been going 10 years or so.

We are a pretty relaxed bunch that are either too old, too rubbish or too fat (sometimes all three) to play anywhere else. We all just turn up every week pay our subs and play. No circular texts no face book group just bunch of reasonable blokes who manage to turn up every week.

Every so often somebody brings a 'shouty' and they just get ignored and generally move along. A few months back a guy started at my work he was quite, never said anything to anybody and seemed like a nice guy. We got chatting about football and he got an invite. So he turns up and is the shoutiest idiot we have ever had. Literally screaming "man on, man on" every time the ball was passed. In the end someone said to him mate it's six a side it's sort of a given that someone s going to try and tackle me. Didn't stop him one little bit.

He's a leader, you need leaders on the pitch, according to Alan Hansen anyway.

I've found that the gobby one is the sttest on the pitch.

Football is full of shouty people in general. Have you ever been in a pub when it's on the TV? Ruins a quiet pint laugh
