If we continue like this he'll be sacked. No way will he get to the end of the season.

In the papers already .. Rodgers admitted he has held talks with Liverpool’s American owners over a dramatic slump in form that has left them 18 points behind Barclays Premier League leaders Chelsea.

As for this nonsense, does anyone really believe him anymore?

Palace have a simple game-plan, to concede the ball and play on the counter-attack. What we've got as a model of a football club is to bring in young players.
‘This is a group doing their best, but they're just not quite firing. Their confidence is low.
‘But we need to find a way. They're very talented players, but it's been a new phase this season: a lot of games, a lot less preparation time in terms of coaching, key injuries.
‘It's my responsibility as the manager, ultimately. I put the team out there, the best team to win us the game.

I don't want him sacked, and I don't think the Players or Owners do either.

However, if we continue like this then it looks bad for us this year.

Never mind a defensive coach, I think that completely misses the point. We are absolutely toothless in attack, and push forward too much to try and force the situation = mistakes at the back.

Lambert must have been so frustrated today, scored a great goal but otherwise, playing up front looks no fun for LFC? No end product, no supply, poor crossing, I don't think Balotelli can be blamed either tbh.

You can't play sluggish, crab like football then moan at the only striker on the pitch.

If you were to judge attacking players on end product (decent cross/shot on target/through ball/ heaven forbid assist or goal) then none of our players stand up to scrutiny, we should ask for Downing back frown

It is like they have forgotten their job, which is to fking create chances and score goals!

Defence is the wrong place to be looking, despite the scoreline imo.

What's not to believe in what he's said there?

Don't get me wrong, he's quite rightly under-fire, but ultimately he's laid responsibility at his own feet there.

Believe that 'he'll find a way'?

He doesn't even know what's wrong. If he did we wouldn't be playing the same game after game.

And I call him a liar if he thinks the team he put out against Madrid was the best one he could to win that game.

I do think he has the intelligence and experience to turn us around.

I don't think he will though, I think the rot has set in and unfortunately it seems there is very little you can do when confidence and motivation gets so low.

I bet Pardew has no idea what he did to turn Newcastle around a few weeks ago!

As much as I hate the way we're playing, I respect him for taking responsibility, and genuinely hope he stays until the end of the season.

The focus is all wrong, it is not our defence, it isn't even Balotelli (massively unjust scapegoat imo), it is our midfield poncing about with the ball and not moving forward with pace and purpose.

BR has to take responsibility for that, let’s hope he sorts it out.

But surely the defence IS the right place to start. Begin by keeping some clean sheets which guarantee some points in the bag then maybe nick the odd goal here and there to pick up the odd three point haul.

Your midfielders and strikers are scared witless of going too far forward as the defence is so shocking. That affects their confidence in attack because they know that one slip behind them and they'll be a goal down. Skrtel needs to get back to his form from last season minus the stupid shirt pulling and Johnson needs selling, he is stealing a living at the moment.

Think BR will stay on a little longer but this January is a huge window for LFC. Do they trust BR with more money after he has wasted north of £100 million or do they cut their losses and run?

Suarez has yet to score for Barca (could be wrong) but I expect he will be looking this way in amazement.

Brendan may well be unemployed by Xmas at this rate, whether I agree or disagree with that is irrelevant, football managers come and go like bad smells these days.

Pardew proved how fickle football is, he put out a few kids against Man City and fluked a decent performance that has completely turned Newcastle's season around. Saying that, we're only 12 games in, plenty of time for more managers to "get it wrong" yet...

I've never been convinced by Rodgers for your lot, I thought he had a lot of help from Suarez and eventually got exposed by an aging midfielder slipping up in the most crucial of games. I do think it would be mad to not give him until the end of the season, there aren't any major championships this summer so if he is getting the boot at that point the new manager will have a proper pre-season.

It's all opinions Mart, mine is different to yours is all.

We waste huge amounts of time in possession, knocking the ball backwards and sideways. This causes us to become frustrated and throw more players forward (typically only 2 at the back), which =inevitable mistakes.

If the midfield and forwards were playing more affectively as a unit, the issues we are seeing would be much less apparent.

Knocking the ball about for 70% possession is not playing football.

Exactly one of the reasons Brendan has to go, nothing he does now makes sense in every aspect of his management and as such he is gone. He is sacking himself by the teams he puts out and the decisions he makes - as if he has another job lined up and wants a pay off.

Enrique should have started at left back if he was resting Moreno. Playing an out of form right back ahead of your 2 first choice left backs is just stupidity.

There are certain players that are getting picked regardless of performance. Johnson and Gerrard spring to mind from today, as does Lovren. Sterling has been very poor also and too much of the game has passed him by, the same again today.

Bodge has been stealing a living since he got here, a payoff will be business as usual for him.
